mickyj63: south rd was backed up this afternoon due to a water main on Henley Beach rd got held up by both

Mickey, are you suggesting we should get rid of the water mains because as they hold up the traffic when they fail?

I work with a few people who want to promote "Health and Wellbeing."

So well a sweeping statement.

Okay, "We must have all speed limts down to 30km/hr as it has been proven that pedestrians and cyclists are likely to receive serious injusry or death at speeds higher."

Yeah we do get a lot of warm and humid days in western Sydney and unfortunately too far from the coast to get the ocean breezes to cool it down at night.

30 km's would have been nice Wash 25km's an hour from 4 lanes to two .And that was Henley beach rd .The twits on south rd the outside was bumper to bumper .I was in the outside lane watching people go to the inside .Watched a guy let 3 cars in and then go in the quicker lane .And a woman in the outside lane stuck her blinker on when i was next to her and come over she stopped just before side swipping me .
She then went to the part lane skirted up past everyone and turned left onto Port rd. So basiclly she changed from the right turn lane to the leaft turn lane trying to hit every car as she went !!!

The burst water main wasnt the problem Wash mate its the nutters driving on the road!!!
Does beg the question for the boffins does high humidity like yesterday help with aging water mains sprining leaks !!!

Hi Micky...
I am going stark raving mad here...

Took me two hours this morning to get to work... I scanned every side street to see if there were NOT parking hour zones.. I could have walked quicker... but no... every side street around unley is time zoned... doh very mad

I did a great big loop around belair and the golf course.. added heaps of kms just to bypass blackwood.. I just dont know what else to do...sigh

anyway, tempers on the road have flared..very mad and everyone is ignoring every road rule and pushing in... even when you indicate that you are NOT letting them.. comes really close to side swiping and then they stop... Its like a battle of the wills.

But we need a major 30 car pile up to make anyone realise that this cannot go on for another 2 weeks... THIS IS STUPIDITY AT ITS WORSE.

and to answer Obsi... NO... we do not have a train service til the end of the year... doh

Metro Adelaide has a bunchfull of really BLUNT knives...

mickyj63: it's a v8 race supposedly you guys want it

No!! We don't want your race. You guys palmed off the Formula 1 grand prix to us a few years ago, and frankly, we are sick of it. Bernie Ecclestone says he's happy to sign on for another 50 years! No wonder at the rate of cash were we giving him. (All secret)

Wow, that sounds pretty serious. Glad I don't live up there.
Here is a link to a radar picture of the storm and yes, it is hardly moving at all.

They were talking about the people up north on the radio this morning, apparently the line at the bottle shop went a block down the road?

Gee I hope they don’t suffer in the morning from hangovers when their cleaning up the mess!

Sunday watching Landline and it is reported that Victoria is unusaully dry, with the Gippsland being exceptionally down on rainfall over the last few seasons. Why do we still keep getting floods during low average total rainfall???

Warm 30deg dry Monday. The Parliamentary Inquiry into Rural Drainage made a tour of our part of the Gippsland area to look at the alleged problems.

I get up Tuesday morning for the Public hearing and it is pelting down. cheering applause banana tongue tongue Did the 75kms to work and it is a fine morningfrustrated dunno crying

Do my 30 min presentation and then head further east for a speed limit review workshop/seminar for the rest of the day. Drizzle all day. Got back in the car and probably wetter inside than out with the humidity. And for most of the 120kms back home.

I get up this morning and it is pelting down. frustrated frustrated frustrated Did the 75kms to work and it is a fine morningcheering applause banana No complaints from residents being flooded. 11am it is 28degs and 500% humidty. And buckets down at 3pm. So went for a drive to see the "flooding problems." Whoopy do, not a bitcheering cheering cheering

Sounds like the kind of weather we have been having in qld wash. I joked to people that as I get out of my car I put the sun screen on the windscreen and grab my umbrella at the same time!
confused

Finishing up the week as we started, showers, all day. And I think it is here for about 7 more days sigh

Caught a bit of news on ABC radio today, don't know if it was the BOM stats but this summer has officially been the hottest on record. Sydney having its hottest summer temp of 46C. cool

Are we having 'extreme weather conditions' more frequently - or is it just happening all at once? Only been here 27 yrs myself but I don't seem to remember so much flooding and hot summers as these last few? confused sad flower
