Merriweather: Seeing her policies did not affect me a bit...

You don't perceive how they have affected you, there is a difference.

Obstinance_Works: Actually non, the Conservatism of men like Churchill was the Conservatism that was purged by Thatcher.

I am talking about "guts", not politic. Unless you want to criticize the character of Churchill. You could, but it remains that he did what he thought was right for his country. cheers

Old Tories didn't feel that Thatcher's "Americanised" Conservatism was right for the country. But yes we can safely say that both of them had "guts".

Obstinance_Works: And yet I'd still have her for PM before Miliband - even as a corpse.

Ah, you brought a rolling on the floor laughing For all the bad things she did, she was deposed (betcha didn't know that did you?) because she did not want the UK in the EU. She was right about that since the EU is a New World Order concept that will betray everyone in it as it is doing right now. So thank you for your comment. It is spot on!

Or denote a chapter to her in The Little Red Book. It's an ironic world we live in.

The irony is that it was her domestic and economic policies that made greater dependence on and integration with Europe inevitable.

I would dare to say that the majority of world leaders have a colorful background.

Prime Minister Thatcher just died. Why is it necessary to tear her apart?

Whether you liked her or not a respectful flower doesn't mean that you agree with her policies. It would show that you have an ounce of compassion in your body.

May she rest in peace sad flower

When you are,or have been, a public figure, you leave a legacy, alive or dead. Would it make any difference,if someone makes a comment on the day of her death,or in a week's time????

I President Obama died today, even though I can't stand him, even though I dislike him with a passion, I would not on the day of his death show disrespect to him and his family. I would more then likely say nothing at all.
