cgedvr1: yeah...sounds to me like the state has gone ahead n poked there nose right smack dab in the middle of church now...
always thought that marriage was supposed to be "sacred"...a sacrement
in "most" cases...people get married in church in front of God n everyone...
state of california voted against gay marriage, but now the state has said go right ahead...
let the games begin...stirrin the pot for sure now
Why bother stirring chit sir? Marriage in a Christian church, for instance, is still separate and different from the State's "marriage". The state allows/recognizes a legal contract between two people. The Christian church recognizes a "covenant" between two people.

The pot is not stirred, its about the people of this nation and equality.
Now WTF is going to happen to those that are single?
This action was granted for many reasons. It is not church it is about state. As a legal partner you have rights, the church was not willing to give it so the state did.
I must admit I have mixed feelings on this. Two of my best friends are gay. They are not a couple they have other partners. I do believe they deserve the same rights as others. Without having to jump legal hurdles that they would not have to jump if they were married. I do not believe in organized religion. I think my mixed feelings come from growing up in a time where this was not even talked about. But even with mixed feelings I know I have no problem with this. And am unsure how you figure the state and church are not being kept separate? The church does not agree with a lot of things. So? You know what I have noticed that I think is quite funny people who I have never seen practicing their religion is all of a sudden crying about their religious rights. Where are my rights? Where are the rights of those who are agnostics? My question is ......is religion trying to mix state and religion?

Actually by allowing gays to marry and be socially integrated and resposible citizens you are doing the lords work. It is the male controlled church of Western civilization, that subjugated women and turned gays into social pariahs that did Satans work for him.
no it is not sacred. it is legally organised. it is a contract. it involves a few legal consequences for both parties and products of those parties. it affects how the states view your understanding and how third parties need to see it in case of inheritance and such. Both the both parties are quite free to go against it. And that contract can be annulled quite easily. The bond between child and parent is a sacred thing involving universal human rights and such.
An autograph might be considered a sacred thing. easy to forfeit actually, but of such importance.
