Genesis, Moody Blues, E,L,P, King Crimson, Kansas, Utopia, P,F,M, Triumvirat, and stuff thats kinda different but related (if that makes sense), space rock, canterbury scene, psychadelic etc...
This is from a band called 'Triumvirat', hailed in the 70's as Germany's answer to brit proggers Emerson, Lake and Palmer...
Taken from their 1975 concept album 'Sparticus'....
In the midd 80's, the neo progressive movement was evolving...
The question on the lips of prog fans was who was going to carry the torch lit by the old guard (ELP, Genesis, King Crimson, Yes)... In Britain, Marillion, IQ, Pallas, Pendragon and 12th Night were the front runners... Some of the above named bands had mixed fortunes, IQ however have never strayed from their original mandate, and are now 'old guard' themselves, but what a fantastic musical legacy they are leaving behind them... This is the first IQ track posted here, but it definatly wont be the last...

Kaybee50: Dead?
Help me here please.
In the mid sixties we started to hear strange and intriguing music fro the West Coast of the States. This was termed Progressive Music All went well for some years, the music spread to the UK and spawned many new bands. Unfortunately around the turn of the decade the term Prog Rock replaced the term Progressive Rock. Probably just coincidence, but the now Prog Rock bands climbed up their own a**hole with self indulgent never ending pieces of tedium and tried to fool us this was 'progressive'.
Like I said...thank god for the pistols...the dinosaurs were almost extinct!!!
