I agree completely..the whole concept of keeping animals locked up so we can come along and ogle them is completely wrong..zoos should be banned

its not for the amusement of the public its for conversation of the species seeing as we as a race have hunted most of them to the point of extinction just for a bit of sport

should see the number of animals bread in captivity that would otherwise disappear off the face of the planet...
i cant be arsed to do the search, but i anyone out there wants to, youll see the valuable roll zoos play in preserving species...
there are a rediculous number of animals, insects and flora that disappear 'each day'.....

dead dog maddog...he was waxed and the body was never returned to the owners, belief was the dog was killed before his time was up, no proof though...all history now...

This is 2013 Pedro, not 1893, a lot of these issues and concerns are addressed, the animals have adequate space, food, appropriate/simulated environments. They're looked after extraordinarily well. Besides, a lot of them have been born into that life and no no different.

I think you have this image in your mind Pedro of a bear, continuously threading a worn circular path, chained and banging its head off its wire cage while moustached men in top hats and monicles and women in bonnets and dainty shoes admire these marvellous beastly creatures from far corners of the earth

in my books it's wrong to keep wild animals in captive in a cage can u not see the pure wrongness about that
Pedro they artificially inseminated a panda in Edinburgh zoo a little while back and she's showing signs of being pregnant in her behaviour now
