Syria has accepted a proposal to put chemical weapons under international control, state television has reported.
Prime Minister Wael al Halki said a proposal to hand over the weapons had been accepted "to spare Syrian blood".
Russian news agency Interfax quoted Syria's foreign minister Walid al Moualem as saying: "We held a very fruitful round of talks with foreign minister Sergei Lavrov yesterday, and he proposed an initiative relating to chemical weapons. In the evening we agreed to the Russian initiative."
This is not good news for Osama Obama, now he needs to find another excuse to invade Syria
Ken_19: So how will full compliance be verified? Remember even a single shell left behind can still kill more children than a 500 pound bomb would/will.

Im just gonna point out a few details and you decide for your self if you`re gonna click on the link and read it ; wars have cost Americans approximately $6 trillion (past 12 years)
“more veterans have committed suicide since 2001 than we have lost on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan.”
the annual cost of the Afghan war was $1.5 billion for each al-Qaeda member in Afghanistan. Many US and coalition troops paid with their lives for every one al-Qaeda member killed.

Tell us more about them fake CNN text alerts you getting John?
john12196341: with all due respect. why do u believe in oppressing dictator that loves killing his own people. and those text messages do come from cnn jerk
You said yesterday that the CNN alert said the UN report said that Assad used chemical weapons. I looked on CNN there was no mention of it.
I thought so called Conservative Christians in America don't watch or subscribe to CNN.
Considering the lies that I've heard from most of the democratic leaders of Ireland, Europe and the US over the past 15 years about everything from Economy to Military issues, they behave no more truthfully than so called dictators.

Well the US supports plenty of dictators that kill and torture their own people so why pick on this one? It's amazing how you love to support rebels against governments that control a lot of oil.
Just some of the dictators that the US sell arms to and considers allies are Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al-Said of Oman, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, President Ali Abdullah Saleh of Yemen, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea and Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov of Turkmenistan. There are more but bloody spelling them is the problem!

Do you want me to write you down a list of dictators that the US protects and supports?
Just 'cos we're on about the Mid East:
King Hussein of Jordan House of Saud. The Emirates of UAE. House of Al Thani, Qatar Emir of Kuwait. Until recently, Hosni Mubarak of Egypt.

So you think its better if you Americans kill them
john12196341: i believe that i am against people on herewho admire bad people. it makes sense that the europeans are so naive and are lack commen sense

Theres no need to insult europeans. We havnt done so bad considering the amount of time we have been around. Maybe, like many Americans, they dont want to see more of there young service personnel coming home in body bags. They saw enough of that with Iraq and Afganistan. Is that so wrong?

Not so "international" as all that. Russia will be overseeing it all.
This was a brilliant coup by the Russians. It accomplishes their objective of putting Russian troops within Syria with worldwide support as peacekeepers.

The Russians have had troops in Syria for many years, they even had naval base there since 1971
