think of it this way...when the body is in a coma it has to be put on life support...so with that being said...one can not function without the other...IMO
Yes, the body's reaction to the mind is emotion. The more you identify with your mind, the stronger the emotional charge will be. If you are cut off from your emotions you'll eventually feel them at a physical level, as a physical problem or symptom. This is how many illnesses manifest within the body.

pedro27: how much is the mind linked to the body?
Hey Pedro..
the body is just this thing that carries us about.. when the mind says walk, we walk, when the mind says turn, the mind not only says turn, but it tells the body how to turn, and ( always a shoulder lead) etc...
So , the body is the vessel that we feed to give the mind the energy to do the things that we need to do..
and then of course, if you dig deeper, we have a conscious mind, and a subconscious mind and those two have different tasks as well.
You can think negatively and stress the body out over something that may not even be real. Conversely, you can think positively and meditate on pleasant things to help ease the body pains or stress.

It was only yesterday I was telling someone about psychosomatic influences on the body. Interesting.

Even more than that, it has been suggested that a strong unconscious emotional pattern could even manifest as an external event that appears to happen to an individual on a regular basis. For example, people who carry a lot of anger inside without being aware of it or are able to express it are more likely to be attacked, verbally or physically by other angry people, often for no apparent reason. They emanate anger (from the mind) that certain people pick up and that triggers their own latent anger.

Very simplistically... yes... you can do all that... and it will work in direct relation to how much you really believe it...
and therein is the key... faith that it will work...

Yes... that happens.. which is why the catch cry these days is to "let it go... move on" ... and that is subconsciously happening, because it is taught in a lot of work places.
and I mean... not that workplaces tell you what to think... but generally accepted that if you think good, you attract good, and if you think bad... you attract bad..
