KNenagh: Same here, I have internet on my work phone and not on my private phone and don't want it - when I'm out I want to talk to my friends and no interest in someone constantly staring at their phones.
its the height of ignorance as well

jenny68: I have a friend on my fb who is out on her hen night tonight...She lives in the UK and every fifteen minutes or so pics are appearing of their night out...That's all well and good but when I go out I forget about the internet "because I am out"Sure I take pics or whatever but wouldn't enter my head to keep logging into social networking sites to continually post while I am out...I most likely post them the next day or a few days later...maybe I am a dinosaur but different strokes for different folks...

Are you an internet junkie, cant even go out without constantly logging in to see if you are missing something...

And please stay on topic, its not allowed to let the conversation take a different turn and veer off into a different area

When you are out,you should be out.Whats the point of going out in the first place.
Could have stayed at home on line.

I have a friend like that,as soon as he reaches for his phone i finish my drink and move on somewhere else.

The problem with Facebook is the likes hitting the like button so obviously people with no self esteem will constantly put up pictures and need likes to feed their low self worth .l didn't think you would notice the feeds on Facebook Jenny thought you would be too busy playing Candy Crushlaugh

Pet Rescue is my new addition mumbling mumbling mumbling mumbling

Larry and MJ: I would love a mobile with a tazer attached grin smitten

I remember being in a restaurant in Dublin when the IPhone craze first hit Ireland. My two friends were stuck to their phones for the starter.
I said "what are you both doing?"
One was emailing his GF in France and the other was reading a Mammy Forum.
I was very calm and clear and said" I am going to the loo, if I see either phone out for the rest of the night when I come back to the table, they are being shoved up your arses" rolling on the floor laughing
That was the last I saw of those Iphones for that night and we had a great time grin

See... this is how people approach online communications etc. SOme people have a 'Computer' a box in the corner. And they have their Computer time in the evening for an hour or so where they don't do anything else for the hour. Then they turn off the computer and that's it done until the next night. Which there is nothing wrong with.

Others might have internet on everything they have that takes a battery. You have to understand that putting a photo on facebook nowadays from a phone takes 2 key presses on the keypad. There is no 'logging on', or stopping their lives to do that. It's a second, and back to drinking or whatever it was they are doing. I can check this forum and eyeball a few huairs while waiting for the weather to come on in the Background.

KNenagh: No, it's not just you Jenny.

I only have family and a few friends (mainly close ones) on FB and I unfriended people who annoy the hell out of me with stuff like that.

I think there are about 58 in mine and related to a large portion of them and some of the others will be going for a hop as well, no communication at all so what's the point...the person I referred to here is a really lovely person and very fond of her but every little thing is posted...never less than 20 updates a day, I wouldn't have the energy or inclination...

weirdly enough...

you realise hes prob the closest caricature that comes to mind when i see your post dont ya?grin

jenny..i have days where i post twice or 3 times, i throw the odd food piccy..i can load a fb pic in under 30 secs from when i take it with fb for android...sometimes i do it just outta boredom while waiting for the kids to come outta school or some shiote...but there is also days where i dont post or even bother reading anything, think it depends on if and when i want to invite people in to have a wander around my life...or not.

think like sir larry and freya discussed on a diff thread that we all have a diff style of posting on here....think same could be said for fb..i know there has been moments where ive just had to put people in the restricted corner..(means you show up as a friend but you dont have to watch their car crash life)
