Any song that radio station plays more than three times in an hour. I have heard many songs that I thought were amazing only to be sick of the same song and hating it after hearing it 12 times a day, day after day for a month!
You mean a top 40 song that should have never made it ? For me, that would have to be this song by The Steve Miller Band. Was never a big Steve Miller fan. Didn't hear anymore from the Steve Miller Band after this song.

hey fishin I tend to agree with all the over played songs on the radio. Typical of commercial radio stations.
I got bored of same old same old so I have my favorites on my phone and computer. computer can be plugged into to the stereo at home and phone plugs into the car stereo. the only down side is I don't get to hear a lot of new stuff. but the good side is the new stuff is all the same and I don't have to hear that either.

Yes, that is why I listen to Public(member supported), or Classical Radio stations. No commercials, hate them. I have been muting Adverts on the TV for twenty years.
don't you miss music from back when it wasn't pretty? oldschool rockers and country singers were not good looking by any means but could sing and writes songs that were amazing? jim croce for example. that man was ugly as a mud fence but could write and sing some awesome songs. now all artist (mainstream) are pretty and electronically enhanced to sound good. all politically correct as not to offend anyone. I remember hank jr and Charlie daniels. there music said something and even angered many but they still put it out there, right and wrong. from the heart and soul.

Loved Croce, and Daniels, I bought a C. Daniels album in 75, I think it was called Fire on The Mountain, and every song was good.
elednuw: Mine is "Build me up,buttercup".I dn't know who sang it,but just hate it.Whats yours?.
Me, too! It's by The Foundations - they always used to play it on the oldies station (in the U.S.)
I don't hate this song "Band of Gold" by Freda Payne, but don't care for it, either - I mention it, b/c my husband (here in Wales) -said she has a much better song- and she does. But it's interesting, b/c I've discovered there are some great songs that never made it to the U.S. And I had no idea The Hollies or Fleetwood Mac started at least 10 yrs. before we ever heard a song of theirs. I always thought of The Hollies as a 60's group - but they had some great 50's songs - different style than their 60's songs - but really great. (And most in the U.S. know Cliff Richards only for the song "Devil Woman")
Just remembered - love several of The Hollies songs that I knew them for, but can't stand Bus Stop!
(A popular dislike song in the U.S. is "Feelings" - Morris Albert)

Ahh... Croce. If a person hasn't listened to the older songs in a while and goes back to have a listen... boy, do they sound good - and Jim Croce - what a talent - great to listen to. I had a boyfriend in college who liked hard rock & Charlie Daniels - he saw Charlie in concert. (I don't know much of his music - one of these days I'll give a listen - I absolutely love music)
P.S.I saw in a thread you mentioned Richard Harris' MacArthur Park - I LOVE that by him - my son even sang it over the radio for me when he was 12 - b/c it was a request weekend, but you had to sing part of the song... and I'm tonedeaf. They played the song & also my son singing it & mentioned they were impressed by him-my son that is- singing it. Luckily, my husband here in Wales loves it, too - said he never came across anyone who liked it, tho, til me.

Then I won't mention MacArthur Park as a bad song then.
