The whole of the West is becoming an accidental autocracy. Fascistic realism is the subsequent era which follows from failed idealism: There's such a tiny minority of people whom are functional as an individual whilst also understanding realpolitik that they'll look over the masses of apathetics, dreamers and losers which comprise our societies and reach the conclusion that are our fates cannot be left to these slothful halfwits. And from here will come the pragmatic call for order, and not because we particularly desire autocracy, but because we know it cannot be otherwise like the Athenians before Alexander.
