We speak Irish-English, which is closer to British English than American English. Although lots of kids now speak more American English due to tv/music.

East Enders is on the tube in the US? Really? That's a surprise. Usually the Britcoms are on PBS and I haven't seen it. (Not that I'd watch it, but I'm just curious).
