When something reflects visible light it's called "white".
It has no "color", that's true.
Black doesn't have any color either.
In additive color (light) white is the combination of all colors and black is the absence of any color whatsoever.
But in subtractive color (paint, ink, dye, or anything we see that isn't a light source) "white" describes something that reflects the entire spectrum of light without absorbing any of it.
That doesn't make it invisible or transparent. It makes it white.
It's not "see-through" unless you can see through it.

Painting can incoporate techniques with additive properties. DaVinci is credited by some with discovering this.
I was embarrased by my first grade teacher when I claimed a Panda was a bear. Now it is my understanding ? they believe a panda is a type of bear.

I sure hope big brother here doesn't mean the USA. The USA is a benevolent super power and Europe should spend its own money on defending itself and sacrifice it's own youth, not ours.
Most of Europe has developed a false sense of security created (imo) by our strong military presence in the world and they don't even realize it; instead they berate us. I hope president Obama keeps on keeping us out of foreign conflicts.
We should no longer sacrifice our young women and men who are are mutilated and killed policing an ungrateful world.

Technically, from a distance, a Panda is a cuddly oversized Koala.
But if it's chasing you through the bamboo it's a bear.
I'm interested to know what you mean about paintings and birds with additive qualities. Are you saying that reflected light becomes a sort of light source, so that the observed color derives from additive rather than subtractive processes? I could believe this for birds with highly reflective florescent colors such as some pigeons, peacocks, etc. In effect florescence is indeed a light source, converting absorbed ultraviolet into visible light.
