One of the things I finished the other day was cleaning out the chimney for the wood stove as best I could. The last thing I want is a chimney fire, been there, done that. In fact, my ex's drunken father-in-law nearly burned their country house to the ground one morning by having a roaring wide open fire going on nothing but kindling and the chimney had never been cleaned. They said it sounded like a tornado and burning embers were shooting out of the chimney like a Roman Candle.
A couple of weeks ago my son came here on his way back to where he's living in Kentucky and he fixed the roof in the garage which had been leaking for a while. Had to replace a couple of rotted pieces of plywood under the shingles. I was the helper.
I turned the heat on for the first time this season cause it was a little chilly this morning. The first person who comes here for any reason is going to help me move the woodstove back into position so I can hook it back up. Time to get the old down comforter out and put it on the bed.
Winter is my favorite season, right behind Spring Summer & Fall.
