I found this photo interesting and thought, perhaps, some of you would too. It was taken by a Chinese spacecraft looking back towards Earth from the far side of the moon
The Earth hangs like a white and blue bauble in the black of space, distant and heart-achingly beautiful. Much closer lies the Moon, gray and white and black, its more-unfamiliar far side facing the spacecraft as it rounds the world, preparing to head back to Earth. For just a fleeting moment I could have been convinced someone had added a photo of the planet Mercury here; the Moon’s obverse half is so strikingly different than the near side. The lack of dark maria (except for Mare Moscoviense to the upper left) makes the Moon look like every bit the alien world that it really is.

Gee, is that Harry Stamper still floating in geosynchronous orbit around the moon (Bruce Willis, Armageddon)
What is that dark spot sort of in the middle, an impact crater? It's strange because there seems to be 4 white dots forming a rough square around the dark spot. Thanks for sharing.
my vision is not that good to see the details up close but it may have more info about those spots in one of the other articles this pic has been posted on. I just saw the story, I think it was yesterday. the pic was just so opposite to the way I always thought of viewing the Earth, I also got to see a pic, some time ago, that was taken from the Voyager space probe that we, here in the USA launched 35 years ago, as it was leaving our solar system and looking back towards the earth here is one of the articles that shows to pic from that view
but of course we here on Earth are nothing but one of the zillions of stars in the sky from that point of view :)

That would just be a Lunar Maria. Formed when lava flowed to the moons surface.

until I get my landings a bit more perfected, I learned to keep both feet on the ground however, would be AWESOME to see this pic live, as it was happening
