I can't keep them away from the kitchen. Usually by week 3 of dating she's offering to bake me a cake and posting pictures of it on facebook with worrying references to "my man".
The role of domestic goddess is cool these days. Same for young men and being good with their hands. I know a lot of my mates who have a go at plumbing their own bathrooms in etc where many older guys are complete spastics. Being "hands-on" is definitely more of a thing these days. And this seems to be relatively recent, men/women 30+ are still of the old and incompetent type.
unlaoised: Why should she be able to do more than boil and egg? She has better things to do than sweat in a kitchen....like have a career and a social life
Hey. I have a career and a social life of sorts. I still need to cook me dinner. I have been fortunate though, most of the time anyone thank hung around long enough was not bad in the kitchen. And any failures that were (there was an epic failure involving too much oyster sauce once lolol and another failure of some soup that caused very unromantic consequences later on that night lololol) provided lots of teasing and laughs for a long time after.

Your own social circle perhaps, Obsie. Outside of this your own age group and younger these days are too busy being complete #swaggots. I don't think it's getting better, it's getting worse. But there is definitely a retro strain creeping in, where it's kinda cool to #bake once in a while.... and then they go back to Frappacinos down in Starbucks to talk about it and Instagram about it.
I LUV it in the kitchen.............my favourite place.......just produced a base of red peppers, finely chopped with garlic and sauteed in anchovy flavoured olive oil with a hot red pepper. Topped by tuna steaks and surrounded by mushrooms cooked with bacon and esparragos.
In fact I would go so far as to say..........................any woman who doesn't like it in the kitchen........needs to find a man who will take her out often i.e. lotsa dosh. Or is a chef himself!!! Or finds himself completely bowled over by her bedroom activities. ayeaye aye aye

Exactly...and so does she.
I couldn't cook to save my life when I got married. I learnt quickly when I had a family to feed
