My daughter came home from school and told me she was doing a sponsored silence for charity - she didn't speak to me for two days.
By the start of day 3, she was looking decidedly sheepish and tearful.
"What have you done?" I asked her, dreading what I knew was coming.
There was NO sponsored silence at school. She'd pierced her tongue!

Thankfully she has now outgrown that, after chipping a couple of teeth of it.
