annaroach: How about a self-serviced A&E department... like the time I had to run around and grab bandages and hold together my daughter's arm whilst the doctor stitched it on the run. And I had to pay for that privilege, too[/quote

Likewise, i got stitched up yesterday and had to pay for the privilage

Ah that's terrible, Anna - when will you be able to speak again?

(and YES, I am joking... - hope you're ok)

henonpause: I think you'll find we're doing pretty ok down here in the South - even in my town.

Check out mphc.ie

Not too shabby for the sticks That's over and above a hospital 1 mile from me, plus doctors galore.

No need for city life for me.

He was talking about when the EU subsidy train ends. At the moment the Dublin region is expanding and rural Ireland is imploding, eventually all business will be centred on the East coast. But Cork will be different of course. laugh

No, they are government stitch ups, they permanent and just make things worse and worse, and make you sicker by the day until your entire system collapses from the strain. devil

henonpause: Actually, one of my best mates, a French lass, has been here since she was 18 - and managed twenty years. She has made that final decision to return home. Despite trying her best, she is lonely, isolated, and broke. And single since 2006, despite being a stunning girl.

Ireland is not what it once was.

Lol, you could expand your conquests to international status, MJ.

I've been to France, beautiful. Well, Brittany - still want to tackle the South of France though...

And now I have a contact, GO ME!

In response to: Health insurance has gone up and up and up over the years, and what is the governments response? Make it cheaper? make the service better? Make sure that the insurance companies stop selling crap cover?
No, instead they threaten to make it more expensive if you don't sign up for it in the next month if you are over 35.
If you can't afford it now, how the hell do they expect you to afford it with an added levy, on top of the levy that is already on it?

Government, full of ideas and policies to make your life crappier.
Watched Piers Morgan on the late late last night he actually made sense thumbs up

A lot of people make a lot of sense - sadly, they are not in our policy-making government.

And no matter how much sense they make, change in our favour is not on the horizon.

henonpause: Cape Town is having temperatures of over 40 degrees at present - unheard of in the past.

And you will most definitely be ravished there - of your phone, your money, your safety, your sanity

Was in Cape Town a good few years ago,, loved it. Are you South African?
