PrettyPrescious: Sweet-talking BS seems to be exactly right. I've been getting messages like this ALOT! How does anybody else handle this?
There is nothing to handle. block and delete. No sense getting frustrated.

On my profile it says...

Has kids: Yes, and they live me

...because I live with my daughter and granddaughter.

Despite being a little long in the tooth, I couldn't bring myself to
have directly underneath that...

Wants kids: No way!

...as it seemed a little churlish with respect to the ones I've got.

So underneath it says...

Wants kids: Definitely

I do rather like my girls and I have no intention, at least for the present, to put them up for adoption.

The moral of this tale is, the profile tick boxes don't always provide options which accurately describe ones sentiments, nor situation.

In response to: Their profile will clearly state that they WANT KIDS. I'm 54 years old! They say my age isn't an issue, and they want to get to know me better. I point out that it isn't a match, because they want kids. They insist that is not important to them.......Really??? Seriously? They clearly state in their profile that they want kids, yet want to start something up with a 50-s woman, who is supposed to fall for the guy hook line and sinker, but I know better than to get emotionally invested with a man who would want kids!! Am I over-reacting? I would not be interested in a fling. I want something permanent!

The ones that fascinate me are the really battered worn fellows of 60 who say they want women any age between 30 and 45. Seriously? Did you even look at that profile pic before you posted it?

Yes I get that quite a bit with younger women contacting me that there profile states they want children but most of them are scammers anyway, there no way I would want someone 30 years younger than me or want to be involved with a family at my age and on retirement. I think people need to be realistic on who there looking for here for forget about some imaginary partner in there dreams. confused

Normally I tell them this isn't going to work. Maybe I should say something in my profile, about not having any plans to have their clones. But as Jac pointed out, some of them might not want new kids; they just "want" the kids they already have, so I can't block/delete right away until I find out what their game, er, goal is LOL

I cant imagine how "wants kids" could be construed as some sort of code for a one nighter or fling. When I say it, I speak in reference to wanting a gf or mate with her own children and neutral on new ones.

When a dude has "wants kids" on his profile, approaches me it, I don't see how it can be a long term relationship, as in permanent. Yet he wants to start up a romance with me? For how long? and for what purpose? he wants KIDS and I"m not going to DELIVER, pardon my pun.

So.....what's he after?confused

PrettyPrescious: Are you saying, that men are simple and women are complicated?

In communication, yes, it could be interpretated as such. That isn't to say that all women are difficult, but that is the norm, from my experience.laugh

Hmmm, I wonder if I would be considered one of the "difficult" ones???laugh
Unfortunately, women's point of view often seems to be one of suspicion of men....women don't trust once they've been cheated on or played. This may be a reason women can become difficultsigh

Probably, and I don't trust as easily as I once may have, but I haven't cut myself off of humanity in general either.

serene56: You tell 'em luv

To me there's no need for confusion on this - these guys are simply having a go, casting a wide net (I bet they've got at least 50 ignores for every 1 reply) and seeing what/who they can haul in.

I have a couple hundred ignores for every one. laugh

Ok, that's a lie, it's more like a thousand to one. moping

S'ok, I'm aiming for a million. peace

Oh, but the men complain if we ladies ignore them....it's a ploy to get us engaged in a dialog with them. In other words, a trap!conversing
