This story is starting to break worldwide right now across the media, with The Telegraph now reporting "NOAA's US Historical Climatology Network (USHCN) has been 'adjusting' its record by replacing real temperatures with data 'fabricated' by computer models."

Because the actual historical temperature record doesn't fit the frenzied, doomsday narrative of global warming being fronted today on the political stage, the data were simply altered using "computer models" and then published as fact.

So we are better off than they thought? That would be some good news.

Don't know why governments, rather than sacking any scientist that doesn't agree with there somewhat short on fact ideas about global warming, don't just admit we have to do something about polution, particularly in cities where breathing the air makes smoking look like a healthy pastime doh

We called that 'FUDGING' in the early days of my career in air quality control with EPA. Yes, your honor, there were a lot of FUDGED data before reliable and accurate techniques for measuring and reporting environmental data that are today all referenced to standard materials provided by the national bureau of Standards (now NIST.).

Maybe you guys are driving too many dirty diesel powered vehicles built in Germany by Volkswagen? Did 2015 actually see automatic traffic restrictions there in some cities in Spain? Because the thresholds put in place to protect human health were exceeded on 150 days out of a maximum of 183, during the 2014 summer?

If you took EVERY vehicle in the world off the road, it would make no difference to the planet's warming. Sure, it would certainly improve the pollution problem, but as for the warming angle would have zero effect. Since measurements began the rate of warming has remained relatively constant. There were relatively few vehicles on the road in 1900 compared to today, yet the degree of warming has not increased substantially as would be expected if indeed vehicular emissions were the problem. Any Boy Scout who has ever been near a campfire will know the closer you get to the fire, the hotter it gets. Simple logic.
We have the Sun, without which life would cease to exist on Earth as our heat source. Every year the Earth moves inexorably closer to this source, and logic dictates that the nearer the Earth moves, the hotter it will become. As there is no way to prevent this movement toward the Sun, there is therefor no way to halt the warming effect on the planet. I invite all you "scientists" to disprove the above thesis, or offer a plausible alternative. professor

You could well be right on that, it hasn't affect my local town as yet, firstly it's not normally that busy & secondly they've placed the measuring equipment on the side of town that get a breeze from the sea & next to a large public park doh laugh

laugh and I still insist that there would be less pollution and less warming if more people would grow beards and plant me re synthetic trees.

This is exactly what happened to Flint, Michigan, when General Motors became Government Motors. EPA just looked the other way when it was all paved over.
I think they have to try and pipe drinking water from Detroit to Flint because ground water in Flint is now too polluted.
All the GM jobs went to Mexico and so they bulldozed Flint into a large surface paved parking lot.

Name a government agency that doesn't "create" data that perpetuates the fraud?
