KNenagh: Thanks Tiny, will have a look at the link. Seeing that I always seem to break them, buying one in a shop I can bring it back for repair might be better for me. Just no shops in Kilkenny, that would mean driving a good bit.

Yup, I get it with the dresses and I think someone that you made yourself is something you like wearing anyway (at least that's the case with the stuff I make). I can recommend Pinterest, lots of ideas, tutorials and sometimes even pattern. Well worth a look, I got tons of ideas from there.

Got some lovely fabric today, it's a place well worth stopping and having a look whenever you're down that direction.

A few Argos around, and I think you can bring something back to Argos, just as with any other shop? A shop with a direct repair service is definitely better though, I fully agree, and oh my yes, Pinterest is a treasure trove, have gone on a browsing spree some point and loved it thumbs up

Happy to hear you found fabric you like at that shop! I am sure those chairs will look fantastic yay and I shall definitely pop in there if I get down that way. Might have a long trip over to Northern Ireland ahead soon, to look for pottery equipment. Seems to be one not far away from Newcastle, Co Down. Long drive, but can't be helped motorcycle

Sometimes trips like that can be interesting, I go up to Dublin for the day from time to time and try to pack as much as possible in. conversing

Hope you'll find what you are looking for and have fun getting creative again. bouquet

Thanks, still pulling out hundreds of stapler and decorative nails per chair (and the knife out of my thumb), but will be getting there eventually. laugh Got some antique furniture, sanded and finished them and put up some things I painted and did myself - think it looks nice and friends couldn't believe I did it myself. Makes me appreciate some things more and it is a way of getting nice stuff that would otherwise be in-affordable.

Looking forward to hearing about your dresses, doing stuff like this is fab. hug

Oh, a photo would be so nice, once you have them finished!!! Sounds absolutely marvellous (aside from the shredded thumb, ouch >.>)

Doing your own stuff is so much more rewarding, totally agreed thumbs up I have heaps of plans on all sorts of fronts, aside from the dresses and pottery. Even planted a eucalyptus tree last year to hopefully make my own oil grin and hope to finally get the vegetable garden going this summer, too.
To pick my own tomatoes while wearing bell shaped sleeves - yay! flirty laugh

But yes, a photo of those chairs, once you have finished them, would be fantastic. I am sure they will turn out absolutely stunning, and they will feel yours so much more with the work you invested into them hug

Jeez, have to set up on of these photo accounts to post pics off. confused My taste is a bit different (grey stuff is in at the moment which I do like and got some nice accessories) and making stuff the way I like it is just easier. Had a look at stuff I like in the shops and ... uh oh laugh

Tomatoes are easy to grow, had lots of them this summer. Kohlrabi were ok, but lost courgettes and pumpkins to blight. mumbling Enjoy, it's some work involved in it, but it's well worth it. thumbs up

In regards to health and beauty I do use a good bit of "home remedies" and alternative stuff. No harm in trying and found a good bit useful. Keep us updated how the eucalyptus tree works out!

Wondering what the heck happened to my country as there are so many wonderful programmes on TV at the moment about the 1916 Rising and now we have these intellectually challenged TDs and heads of Government who are crooked and screwing the electorate, etc., and I wonder if those who gave their lives for a free Ireland could see it now, what would they think.... well you asked. That's what I've been thinking...ireland

my uncle, a staunch republican, is truly disgusted with what has been going on in the country last few years. he believes if those that were involved in the uprising only knew what was going on now, there would be another uprising. suspect hes right. he said he will not be partaking in any 1916 celebrations. his 91 year old father has thrown in the towel. said they have beaten us. sigh truly disgusting and disturbing behaviour. its destroying our country. oh i like your analysis of our tdslaugh

IF this eucalyptus tree ever grows (it was meant to shoot up first year already, but didn't grow at all mumbling), it should be just a case of getting a jar with olive oil done up with some leaves in it, by the window in the sun grin I shall find out if I ever get the tree to grow... uh oh lol

Growing own food and making own stuff is just so much nicer. Missing the time when I had organic cider vinegar available in gallons, was such a treat. Will try get my own vinegar, but only planted the apple trees last year, will be some time before a proper harvest. Had 2 cherries last summer! One went to the ants (I was happy to share though, elated to have a cherry at all laugh)

Trees will take time, I like veg etc. I can harvest the same year. Lots of apple & plum trees at home, but not in my garden - find it a shame if its too much to be used. Will have the polytunnel to get going again & see how it goes this year. conversing

Best of luck with your ventures!
