uptall: Practical qualities ( can turn my hand to most things ) from my father, mischief, cheek and playfulness from my mother...I've got no idea who made me daft tho!!
Good question.
I was lucky to grow up in a happy united family.
My earliest memories are of my parents always chatting and laughing together. I never ever heard them fighting. They did disagree with each other as they both had strong personalities, but there was always too much respect between them to fight. They would talk it out instead. They were both intelligent, kind and with a great sense of humour. They also had a great sense of social justice.

I would be happy to take any of their traits.
Nice reply Molly. Sounds just like my upbringing..

I inherited many things from my mom. Strength and perseverance is what comes first to mind. Then there is my Father. I inherited his will to run free and not be held hostage by what society or what other people s expectations of me are. Sure am glad I got strength from my mum
Anybody I know that has been brought up in unhappy circumstances, tend to bring it forward to adult life , and relationships.
It takes a lot of effort and growth to not let it affect the rest of your life.
I'm not sure that's true for everyone Molly. I have friends that didn't have a very good upbringing but have gone on to have very good relationships. ...
