Da_Moose: Ali...I could speak so, so long on this thread....I am of a 1280 acre farm. As a young boy I used horses to single-share plow a field. Cereal grains, oilseeds, gardening, all forms of animal husbandry, from basic tools to mechanized 21st century...from bees to bulls, from chickens to chickpeas to cows, goats to grain...our family never got rich, but we managed and had an amazing "life"...why do you ask?
i like to know about agriculture overseas

I too live in northern climes with a long extended winter where temperatures often go lower than -40...yet there are many fruits we grow here....hardy apples, crabapples, cherries, saskatoons, currants, raspberries, strawberries, currants, gooseberries, cranberries, and so on...melons, peaches, citrus...not a chance! Pineapples?rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Thats reasonable , $5000 is less than minimum price compared with us , u cant buy an acre of land in 5000 , Recently a 28 acres land was sold at $20,000/acre .

The agri land is expansive here

WOW!!! And I thought it was pricey here! Can the land generate enough revenue to EVER recoup this money?

In the UK city dwellers can rent a half acre of land from the local council, to grow crops on to feed the family, they have become very sought after in recent years and there is a waiting list.
