Aww, thank you for being concerned about little old me.
The blast happened at about 4:20 p.m. about 14 km east of me where one person is confirmed dead. Here's a link to the news article and a youtube video showing the area of destruction.

14 km is about 8.7 miles away from my apartment building and I didn't hear the blast from where I am but it sure rocked that whole area for quite a few blocks. No surprise given the amount of damage shown in photos and the video.

8.7 miles is too close. When Sept. 11th happened I didn't hear the planes hit but when viewing it on tv and knowing it was only 35 minutes from me was quite scary.
Even now I have to assume anyone around me has bad thoughts about Americans.
