Classical? For his compositions alone I"d say Agustin Barrios Mangore.
Some recordings of his playing do exist but there old and crappy and not a reliable source to judge his playing by,however from all reports he was a master.
As for modern players theres heaps but I doubt many,if any actually,are any better than this guy,he plays better than many far better known guitarist.

Music is a very personal thing, its hard to peg one single guitarist who is the best. I supposed there probably is a best technical fastest person out there but one persons tastes is different from another person so its hard to say who is really best.

I love Jimmy. Have you ever watched the documentary about Woodstock and the other music festivals during that time? They show just about all of Jimmy's set on that documentary. It's really good.
