when i first saw her.........our eyes meet.........she kinda smiled..........and i was transfixed..........I never thought i,d ever see the day.....when i would meet .....FRancise.......the talking mule........with his daughter..........but being on C/S......i have seen worse...........

There are people, especially women, who constantly need to be reassured & there are those who don't take kindly to compliments.. My honest approach often gets me in trouble but the way I see it, " if you don't like the answer, you shouldn't ask the question"

That is my same thinking too.
If they ask me a direct question I will give them a direct and blunt reply back.
I have no problem speaking my mind but it does tend to get me in trouble.

One2note: It's aparent that there are some fragile members on here who constantly need their fragile egos massaged... Say anything that doesn't resemble a compliment, and you get your head bitten off in an instant..
My point is, should you rather someone give you a compliment , which may give you a false sense of security , or would you prefer the honest approach, which may not be to your liking??

Getting honesty can sting a little sometimes.
But it's better to get a little sting and be given some time to rub it better, than to be given dishonesty which will leave a permanent mark.

A compliment would only give you a false sense of security if it wasn't genuine, i.e. flattery.. All compliments should be honest, not just saying anything nice to get somewhere!
Being honest is important but being brutally honest should only be done when absolutely necessary, when asked. Also good to be tactful and considerate.
Life's too short to be easily offended though. I like to give the benefit of the doubt at least.
