One2note: Having dated mostly younger women in my dating career .. And trust me, they don't come cheap.. I was wondering if the more mature ones, my age or slightly older, are lower or higher maintenance .. Do you need the fancy holidays & expensive meals out, or are you happy sitting at home watching your favourite soap , with a bag of werthers original.
May I ask what do you consider expensive. I like to holiday and eat out occasionally. Not all the time tho. Also if a woman really wants your company it is not her intent to break a man. She would rather you both be able to eat in life.

I am high maintenance and with age it goes even higher but not in the material section, rather in the communication/intellectual exchange.

Let's see, I definitely won't eat in Burger King, KFC, MD or other similar places... But I would enjoy a hot dog from a stand and eat it sitting on a bench in the park...depending on how much I am fascinated by the guy... I won't go on a holiday with someone I just started seeing...as it won't be easy to escape if I don't really like it... I don't watch TV but like to indulge on a box of fine chocolates way too often... One might say I am high maintenance but I am not asking anybody to maintain me, I do it myself...right...

I don't think the occasional holiday & the odd meal out constitutes high maintenance. For me , it means spending on unnecessaries , such as regular shopping trips, self pampering & in extreme cases, cosmetic surgery.. Then you have the emotional side, with the constant need of attention & reassurance. However, I wouldn't put you in either bracket.

Krema, In the years I've known you, one could never accuse you of being high maintenance on the materialistic side. My concern is , why such a sweet & young lady such as yourself, has convinced herself that remaining a single parent , is the best option.
unlaoised: Only if it's your credit card she's using. If it's her own...it's not.
Not necessarily .. If I'm paying the household bills & necessities & she's spending her own money luxury items for herself , without contributing to any bills, then surely , that selfish attitude does become a major cause for concern.

"In a relationship" is not necessarily living together and you assume that she's not pulling her weight on other expenditure.
The reason I mentioned it ,is because I recently visited a friend , who manages a spa & beauty complex in an affluent area of London.. Watching his clients , the majority kept women, spending vast amounts of money on pampering themselves, made me realise how fortunate I have been in my previous relationships, or maybe I'm a good judge of character, I don't know

Often, when people feel the need to be constantly stimulated by intellectual conversation , it generally means they are lacking in other areas of their relationship.

Some men want that. They want a woman dependent on him, And they then want that woman to look good on his arm win win.
