President Donald Trump fired the nation's acting attorney general Monday night after she refused to defend an executive order he issued last week restricting immigration in the name of national security.
In an act of high political drama just 10 days after taking office, Trump replaced Obama administration appointee Sally Yates with the U.S. Attorney in Alexandria, Va., Dana Boente.
"The acting Attorney General, Sally Yates, has betrayed the Department of Justice by refusing to enforce a legal order designed to protect the citizens of the United States. This order was approved as to form and legality by the Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel," a White House statement said. "Ms. Yates is an Obama Administration appointee who is weak on borders and very weak on illegal immigration."
She was given the opportunity to do her job--nothing wrong with that. She refused to do her job and got fired--so what's the big deal here? Should we be expecting for her to receive special privileges and waiver exemptions or something?
Surely this isn't any flurry attempt at feminist baiting, let alone another attempt to give reason to hate the POTUS...nah...
He or she serves at the pleasure of the president and can be removed by the president at any time; the attorney general is also subject to impeachment by the House of Representatives and trial in the Senate for "treason, bribery, and other high crimes and misdemeanors".

Trumpy acted to quickly in accepting Yate's resignation . He should have left her just where she was and let other staff coalesce around her then act to lance the boil full of corrupt toadies
He appointed her as is the tradition . She is one of 1800 who tender their resignations when Presidents change , that's tradition to . No president has to accept the resignation , however this is not one of those .

Obama or Trump?
The way I understood things was that Trump was keeping on Obama's staff until Trumps were approved.

OB hired her , she is a democrat . Trumps accepting her letter of resignation extra early . US has to have an AG so Trump may well just appoint one and to hell with a approval process . Like Obama he's been elected to govern so he will .
