Tony Blair, former British Prime Minster, calls for the British people to rise up against Brexit and go against the will of the majority British people.

In spite of the fact the Government is committed to leaving the single market.

H suggested the will of the British people should be ignored and Brexit overturned,

Tony Blair was a labour prime minister although the present labour leader is for Brexit.

Tony Blair has had his day, just wish he would butt out of telling the British people what they should do)))

The majority of Brits voted for Brexit, now their wishes should be followed in a democracy without his or anybody else interference

I agree, Tony Blair went to great lengths to say what the people should want, and be told they want, in spite of the referendum '

It is my understanding that Jeremy Corbyn, the current Labour Leader campaigned for the 'no' vote in the referendum.

It is also my understanding that after the 'yes' vote won, a lot of people were shocked and said they only voted yes to make a point, believing it would never happen.

Also, Theresa May openly saying the reason for Brexit was to get away from the power of the European Court of Human Rights might have left a few pennies dropping.

Tony Blair has blamed Jeremy Corbyn's Labour Party for "facilitating" Brexit. tef New Statesman

Jeremy Corbyn came under criticism for not campaigning for the 'no' vote aggressively enough. He'said not really an aggressive chap though, is he?

That's not the same as saying he agrees with Brexit.

I said it was my understanding that many people were shocked at the referendum result, not expecting that their yes vote would count as anything other than a protest about some EU related issues. I didn'the say it was my opinion. Either way, it's possible that the majority of British don'the want to leave the EU, which was my point.

As for leaving the ECHR, Theresa May said it.

Theresa May is to announce that the government is prepared to accept a clean break with the EU in its negotiations for the UK’s departure, according to reports.

In a speech to be delivered on Tuesday, the prime minister is said to be preparing to make clear that she is willing to sacrifice the UK’s membership of the single market and customs union in order to bring an end to freedom of movement.

An article in the Sunday Telegraph cites “sources familiar with the prime minister’s thinking” as saying that May is seeking to appease the Eurosceptic wing of her party by contemplating a “hard”, or “clean”, Brexit.wine

Theresa May will put plans to pull out of the European Court of Human Rights (EHCR) at the heart of her campaign for the 2020 general election campaign, after ministers conceded that reform plans have been delayed by Brexit.

The Prime Minister is understood to be backing plans to “lift and shift” human rights enshrined in the European Convention and write them into UK law.

Mrs May’s plans go further than those drawn up by her predecessor David Cameron because they will give the Supreme Court the final say over how the rights are applied.

However, sources said she has decided that she cannot start that fight with the prospect of negotiating Britain's exit from the European Union set to dominate Parliament over the next few years.

A senior Government source said: “We would have been looking at having a huge row with a Parliament to get through the Cameron plan and we might even have failed.

“A clean break is by far the best option and, if we put it in the manifesto, even those Tory MPs who are squeamish about the idea will have to get behind it.

“A manifesto pledge also means the Lords will have to let it through eventually..."

@Non...

Listening is not the same as agreeing with, or following.

Yes, Tony Blair is possibly, even probably a war criminal, but we do still have this 'innocent until proven guilty' thing, whatever our very strong personal beliefs and convictions are.

Having said that, I'm certainly not going to stop thinking that leaving the EU and ECHR is a bad idea just because the alleged war criminal, Tony Blair, agrees with me.

In the vote just a few weeks ago Corbyn gave instructions for Labour MP's to support the May plan for exit , some would not .

HexagonKeySet: You make the point most eloquently ... Blair deserves less than zero respect.

Have people forgotten that this is the man who colluded with GW Bush in order to start the war in Iraq at a 'politically convenient time'

Have people forgotten that this is the man who deliberately and repeatedly lied to parliament and the British people about weapons of mass destruction ?

Have people forgotten that this is the man who, along with Bush has the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi children's women and men on his hands?

Have people forgotten that he was corrupt from Day One of his premiership ... reneging on his promise to remove tobacco advertising from as he'd taken a million pounds from F1's Bernie Ecclestone ( which he later called a 'loan to the Labour Party and gave back )

Blair ought not to be listened to but rather to be taken and tried for treason - if the man's mouth is moving he;s either lying or plotting for his own aggrandisement and profit.

You forgot the bit about Tony Blair allegedly allowing 'prisoners' to be flown through British airspace, some even stopping at our airports, whilst being fully cognisant that they were destined to be interrogated using torture.

If you'require going to waggle accusations of war crimes about, you ought not miss that Geneva Convention breaking little nugget.
