rizlared: I'm not sure what downscaling has to to with stress relief, but when I get stressed I travel to a different city, and go for long walks in the countryside, you live in a beautiful country, so much to see it would take a lifetime to cover it all. So take a break and relax.
Very light scalp massage for the first few times ... people who are THAT stressed often freak out when another person makes 'more' physical contact or is in a partially disrobed straight!
I've seen situations where even that (HM) was too much and I've borrowed a technique or three from another modality to help a person get back in touch with their own tension ... the 'big problem' is that stress builds up very slowly and 'stressed' becomes normalised in terms of one's own body intelligence.
Years ago an event happened in my life that was so stressful that I broke out in a severe case of itchy Hives. It was on my back, stomach, arms, and chest, It took about a year of Prescription lotions and pills to get it eradicated.
