I was or had started to, communicate with a person on here but after a couple of messages, they just disappeared along with all the correspondence that we had had. Why? My correspondence to them isn't in my outbox nor is theirs to me in my inbox so what has happened to it. It is the second time it has happened to me and I don't understand why. Can someone please explain to me why mail suddenly evaporates and that contact is no longer there or any trace of the contact be able to be found. Thanks for the response from any of youy longer term people that know how this site works. :)

Sounds like deleted scammers to me, too.

Be careful, eh?

And welcome to the forums. wave

Thanks for the welcome and yes, I have read the info on scammers. I am used to them and don't get taken or haven't done so yet, touch wood. :) I just never send money to anyone regardless of the sob story they tell, on line and rarely loan money off line because I don't have loads to begin with. :)

Yes I know. It is why I take any chat online, especially when I have only a photo and even if I do have face to face cam time with someone, as fantasy. Some people I end up knowing to be genuine but I have had it happen so many times where I have chatted for months to someone before thy hit me up for whatever and when I refuse, they never talk to me again or say ok but keep trying in different subtle ways of weakening my resolve of never sending anything to anyone I meet online. Generally they just give up and move onto a easier target.
A lady I am talking to at the moment may be the same. Time will tell but already, some of her talk is triggering the questioning buttons that indicate a warning is imminent. though I could be wrong as well. Maybe I have become cynical about meeting anyone real from a dating site because of the amount of times I have had wanna be cons try it on me that now I consider everyone to be a potential lie and it is hard for the real people to get in and show me that not all are so. :)

I had my inbox mail disappear too and sent mail also I asked my contact what happened as luckily I had his email and he replied he de-activated his account. Maybe thats what happened or could be they deleted their account.

Scammers vanish quite quickly on here, Admins remove them, and I've reported a bunch of them, I've learned to spot them on here.
