lookn2share: MsContessa... In my humble opinion, the Greedy and Materialistic can't get enough!!! For the average normal person, 'enough is enough'!
I watched a TV documentary about Billionaires and they really were jealous of the multi Billionaires as their Yachts were so much longer and they had gold taps, security to check out the security, and buying up houses and land for a mile of where they lived for privacy, young loveless trophy wives, etc... it was so sad to watch! Living in a bubble.....
ChesneyChrist: Hate to labour the same point but again charity is something the young do more of. To give more to charity and do it more carefully with the main benefactor being human being. The older generation didn’t only put profits over people it put horses before people, the selfish generation favours the one-sided relationship you have with an animal over you and me.
We do need to appreciate how exceptionally selfish the baby boomer/neoliberal era was. Marketing departments are no smaller than they were before, the system itself hasn’t changed but the people are saying enough is enough.
Yes! I believe that the baby boomers were a very selfish generation. They have let down the younger generation. I also believe that the younger generation are very honest! I have a few of them! It’s good to see that people are changing!

I thought this has turned into another trump thread when I read that

I know! At least Trump works and tries to make the lives of others better... These guys were bond’n’ bailout investors...employing nobody and just yachting and flying from place to place... I just wondered what really motivated them.. they were just miserable
MsContessa: We live in a society where ‘Enough is never Enough’ more money, bigger houses, better partner, better job, more beautiful, fitter, slimmer etc, etc an these all come at a major cost!! In general, we do not volunteer to work with the most unfortunate in society, so we can only pitch our situation against what the Marketeers tells us what we should aspire to in life. After all, it is them that benefit the most financially.
Have you ever reflected on, respected and been grateful for what you have in life and decided ‘Enough is Enough’ or would you be far happier just chasing rainbows????
I think it is a character flaw. There are people that can never be satisfied/happy, no matter what they have. It makes for a miserable life imo.
It is a phenomena in Ireland. I didn't hear the expressions "keeping up with the Joneses" and "property ladder" before I came to Ireland. People I know buy a house mostly when 2 people settle down and the vast majority buys it for life.
I do like having a good life and pretty things - because I like it and not because someone else has it and I need to have it, too. I also live within my means. There are things that make me happy like my home, but I wouldn't be more happy to get a bigger house just to impress people.
....I think enough....is enough applies to most womman.......when your trying to push the last inch in.......she shouts in your ear......enough is enough.....i cant take any more.....except molly/ Fifi/rainbow/ and deviant slice.........(bottom).......

I do think it is more of an Irish thing KNenagh than anywhere else due to so many people owning their own homes.. Yes! "keeping up with the Joneses" and "property ladder" were definitely buzz words during the noughties - haven't heard it so much this past decade!!! I expect people have paid dearly for excesses during that time!
