Damn! My vape pen rolled off my desk... hit the carpet (I felt it hit my foot too) and I go to look for it... AND ITS GONE! I mean like disappeared! WTHeck? I tore my desk area apart even found a handful of hair ties (when my hair was long) and my cat's rabies tag (which has been lost for a year) but no vape pen... this is really weird. Not comforting at all.

I have an aggravating but in the end comforting story.
Just to let people know ahead of time, this story is long and is about God, Satan, miracles, doubt, prayer and being taught a lesson.
It all starts with me letting the tailgate down on my truck and unloading a washing machine that I had repaired. Shortly after I did that I tried to close the tailgate on my truck. But it wouldn't latch. I thought no problem it must be the latch mechanism binding up inside the gate. So I took it apart and everything looked liked it was working perfect, but I shot a little oil on the moving parts to see if it would help.
No joy. So I tried several more times to get it to latch, but again no joy. So I got my flashlight out of the truck so I could shine my light around the latching points while the gate was being held in the closed position, but as soon as I tried to use the light I dropped it and broke the bulb. So out of anger I threw the light into the bed of truck and said to my friend who was helping me, "I pray and I pray and I never seem to see God doing anything good in my life, but Satan I see doing bad all the time." My friend didn't say anything and we kept trying to figure out what was causing the problem.
A little while later I said that it was going to take a miracle to fix it as I have not been able to see what the cause was. I was able to use his flashlight to see that the gate was not closing far enough to engage the portion of the latch that's mounted to the bed sides. But and this a big BUT, there was absolutely nothing that was keeping the gate from closing far enough, it just wouldn't.
My friend also has the same make & model of truck and we compared them and there was no difference. Even looking at the body lines it appeared it was closing enough. I even adjusted all the adjustable parts of the latch but it made no difference. I took the gate off and put it back on and there just wasn't anything the could be seen by the naked eye that was keeping the gate from closing far enough. I could see why it wasn't latching, but I just couldn't see what was keeping it from closing far enough to latch. After being at this for an hour or so I had given up. I was holding the tailgate up in the closed position when suddenly it popped into my head "let go of the tailgate and let fall open". So I did, and then I closed it like I always did before and it latched perfectly. So I opened it and let it fall open a second time just for good measure, and again it closed and latched perfectly.
So what I got out of that whole scenario was that even though it's easy to see satans handy work, God is also working in my life and at times he will remind of it.

And knowing that is comforting to me.

Don't EVEN get me to tell you my toilet seat story that happened to me this past week.
