Geez. You date someone while trying to get to know the person. Far too many people take dating too seriously. Meet someone have a few laughs and figure it out. There is no code of laws that says I must only date someone that thinks the same way as me. Relax. Have a good time and figure the rest out.

LeeCharming: When I look at things going on in society and how much politics effects so many people...I think about how it is effecting the dating world....the left vs the right...has been going on a very long time and clearly the LEFT are unhinged and violent...so with this in mind....

Would you ask someone their political beliefs...before you date them?
How important is it to you...that the person you are dating....is of the same political beliefs as yourself?

I will have more questions later...but chew on these two for now
Well..I certainly wouldn't want to discuss and argue about politics as pillow talk.grin

I did not ask, but I should have. A Trump supporter turned on me, after months of friendly and flirty online chats and calls, when I pointed out the errors in his conspiracy theories and proved to him that Trump lies about everything from the Veterans Choice Act (signed into law by Obama, not Trump as he claims) to the extent of his powers, which he erroneously views as almost limitless.

The many things we had in common and could enjoy about each other fell to the wayside. My new friend began to see me as an enemy. He said my profession (English teacher) was leading children into socialism. He sent me links to John Birch Society videos and others which he said showed I was an anarchist.

I tried to reason with him. It didn't work, because he's s a Trump supporter, and thus has checked his critical reasoning skills at the door. In short order, he decided I was an enemy of the people. He labeled me a "vet parasite" and a "double-dipper" because I collect DIC (Dependency and Indemnity Compensation) from the VA due to my husband's 20-year disability and ultimate death (throughout which I cared for him at home) caused by his Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam. I also get free CHAMPVA Medicare supplement. My Trump-loving friend says that I do not deserve these benefits, and I belong in the "hall of shame."

This otherwise wonderful man, for whom I was developing real affection, hated me intensely just because of his politics as a Trump supporter, and the skewed world view he adapted as a result. He concluded that I am a Satanist because I was appalled by Trump's Bible stunt and by the administration's violation of the protester's First Amendment Rights.

All of this hurt. It was inexplicable to me because I've never encountered this kind of bias before. What is it about Trump that he can inspire such venom among his supporters toward ordinary hard-working patriotic Americans?

Some people, sometimes many people, have their self esteem and world view wrapped up in politics. They have all the answers and are always right. Everything is black and white, no gray. Mental health often plays a role.

I certainly would not use politics as a chat up line, they will come out eventually but there are more important things to dicuss, such as which country you want to meet in, whethe she wants to take it slowly or gather momentum quickly.

Most of my g/f have been from Eastern Europe so politics was bound to come up at some stage, but fun time firstlaugh laugh laugh laugh

As stated before the worse females to date whether online or off are leftists, especially if extreme or borderline insane... sadly most don't think logically and are filled with anger, hate, and bitterness for anything they are involved in.

Compare the elegance of Candace Owens ( a Trump supporter ) with genuine intelligence and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez the former waitress in Congress with limited IQ pushing communist beliefs. There's a reason Democrats want illegals to vote... to manipulate them as pawns sheltering them in socialist ghettos until needed and ignoring genuine immigrants.

Mexicans are joining Trump by a significant number simply for this reason... the legal ones are grateful to the US for being here lawfully and they are the first to acknowledge the ones crossing the border late at night along with criminals is why these individuals left Mexico. Furthermore, most if not all leftist women support killing babies thinking it's their right, believe transgenders are real women and distort all facts and laws of nature... for the most part conservative women don't have these delusions and are actually nation builders. Unless you want to ruin your life... stay away and seek a lady who is worth it. Even some moderate feminists and lesbians have realized how severely unstable socialists are and afraid of them.
