Only want Bamboo blinds to cover them bottom up half-way. Just paid to have them washed this year. Any opinions on covering them or not?

Your windows look like Georgian windows and allow a lot of light in and you are open plan so I would keep the look light.

Bamboo is a dust collector. I had Roman blinds at my windows but now have vinyl blinds as I can see through them but anyone outside cannot look in. They allow light in all the time but provide privacy.handshake

I'd leave them wide open, especially if no one is able to look in. It's so bright and light.
If I had a home in the country, I would ban curtains, blinds, drapes and even sheers.

I had drapes previously but changed to vertical blinds , after living on boats for years. i prefer the divided living space, they come in all colours and are cheap enough to replace after a couple of years, as my living room is south facing, they provide adequate shade, or light on a duller day.

I have blinds on the outside of my windows. Very light weight and easy to clean from the inside. I need them to cut out the sun as I'm south facing. They have little slots in them to let in the air if you wish or just drop them down fully and they close up tightly.

My daughter has the new type of blinds which are really nice. I think GS will know what they're called......
