galrads: Yes and then there is this weird unconscious trust say where we feel comfortable being in multi story buildings not knowing or caring to know the qualifications of architects, engineers, laborers, materials use inspectors involved in its construction and maintenance. Have you ever been in the top of a 110 story building during a windy day? And wondered about these things.

They gave me the jitters too germanspitz but they didn’t bother me as much as walking around on the observation deck on the empire state building.

We couldn't go out there as it was freezing and we could only go to the stage below..I did love the plate glass floors by the Windows of the World restaurant at the World Trade Centre and looking down on the people underneath. My friend was too scared to stand on them.
Lovely memories especially Tiffany's shopping.

galrads: I think validating others is a good start
I believe listening to others without constantly thinking of what you want to say ( this is usually evident and off-putting) is a great start. Look courteously I the eye, take in what they are saying, and don’t interrupt. This also is my opinion: if after doing these that person is yammering on, raising their voice, escalating, getting negative, etc...your question of whether or not you want to validate them will be answered. All we have to do to know someone is listen to them for awhile. Silence really is golden. And another thing......
