So with lockdown comes boredom lol It was great at first but what tasks do you set yourselves... I've painted, cooked, cleaned, teaching my kid to drive, watched some great boxsets but I'm running out of things to do during the day
Todays task is to make bread(I don't bake) What is your new hobby/task to get through this long lockdown, it's easy to get into lazy mode

I have embarked on a series of do it yourself tasks around the house, improving the comfort and livability of the house. AS I am spending more time alone, I have enlarged on my bobby of cooking, not without its disasters but at least the disasters are in private. I have a cleaner who is French , so she is tutoring me in colloquial French. This is inclusive in her fee as she likes being the teacher.
I lie in most mornings (luxury) but work into the evening to make up for it. I've really become the most boring person I know.

Oh give Ray D'Arcy a call on Radio 2 for some tips. He'd probably tell you to run a mile lol ...I think every house in the country was painted inside and out during the first lockdown..while poor ol' Ray was losing the will to live trying to make a sourdough starter..I think his final analysis was "never again" lol
I sold up and moved away from Ireland..and thank god I did too because t's kept me very busy. We've been following the numbers (in Ireland) and it's frightening how serious it's become over there....I think I read 100,000 now infected in Ireland yesterday...that couldn't be right surely?
A little tip. If you're making bread using yeast, just before you put it in the oven, cut the bread into four pieces across the width, turn each piece 90 degrees before you put it in the bread tin. It means the bread won't stretch and tear when you butter it...

Not easy packing up and moving away I did it myself in my 20s although the states was great for years, all four seasons too there is no place like home. I've been to Scotland, nice people, good luck with that, the weather isn't much better than Ireland though
Yes the numbers are bad, coming down but alot of deaths at the moment
I'd agree with Ray lol but sure isn't it keeping me busy and entertained, the yeast did it's job on the second proof now, thanks for the tip
irish78eyes: Lol oh do tell us sure id never curse anyone out of it
Funny how people are horrified about using obscene words in a foreign language on here yet use the most awful profanities in English when addressing others.

Ah Ray kept us all entertained that time lol...he's such a sweetheart...
Oh I know, I was dreading it, especially the packing up part, but it was worth it...
yeh lol..it did nothing but rain for one month straight..even in Mayo it didn't rain that much...but the people here make up for it, they're so so lovely.. It's weird, you see them on the street and they look like they're in a right bad mood..but soon as they talk to you it's like a whole new person appears out of nowhere lol...
Good luck with the bread making, the effort is worth the taste..
I've taken up knitting again after a 30 year hiatus......I daren't bake again or I'll just end up eating myself into the size of a heifer lol.....
