Mercedes_00: Population in England are only 68% vaccinated..you need at least 80 % or more of population to be vaccinated..Need to stop dangerous lies & propaganda about those who have been vaccinated..It's this kind of trash that stops those who maybe thinking about getting vaccinated...The truth of the matter is this..A person who has been vaccinated will come in contact with someone infected with Covid who han't been vaccinated..The vaccinated person might feel off having contracted Covid but will shed the virus onto those not vaccinated..Your hospitalisations are not those who have been vaccinated..

Works the same way with those whom are vaccinated against the flu..You get jabbed to travel overseas..You get your kids jabbed against childhood illnesses and so on

One other thing..If you have already had Covid and recovered you may have some natural immunity to contracting the disease again..However because this virus is new it's not clear how long natural immunity might last.
Merc. First of all I’m not telling anyone not to get vaccinated . It’s their choice, not mine .
I’m not anti , or pro virus , I’m a sceptic .
Secondly, I’m just trying to advise people who’ve had both jabs not to get too exited & be cautious because the immunity it provides is short term & it doesn’t deter you from hospitalisation as our government & scientists stated today .

Youcannow: One more thing …
The government is categorising different countries in a traffic light formation.. green being relatively safe and red being too dangerous to travel .
Who are we to talk , when we have one of the highest, if not the highest, rates of infections world wide ?
yea, for you all abroad should be green grass now
"like a virgin" rolling on the floor laughing
Op, one thing is 4sure;
me you can not scare away, but thanks for trying handshake laugh

Youcannow: What does that mean ? Freedom to kill the elderly and vulnerable??
Have the government given up on us , considering we’re having a 3rd wave here & COVID cases are in the increase .

Discuss.
Yes exactly. Kill the elderly and vulnerable. What's wrong with that? Let's have em dying by their tens.

Youcannow: The problem is , hospitalisations are on the increase , which invariably means that people who have had various operations cancelled, or pushed back , will bare the brunt of this sudden flow of inpatients from the pandemic .
Totally false. I've had my smear, mammogram and colon tests done within 3 months of moving back to the Uk last September.

My daughters best friend who has terminal cancer has received nothing than the best care.

I have skin cancer and I was treated within 2 months of speaking to a Dr. Had the biopsies done in December and then the surgery on 19th April.

If you're talking about knee or hip replacements, then it may be because they are over weight. I know this because I was waiting for 2 years to have my hip replacement done in Spain when I lived there. It's not because they can't do the operation, it's because there's no point if you're putting all the weight on the replacement. My legs are like stick insects but I'm just "top heavy" laugh but I did it grin thumbs up

Bottom line is, if you're at risk, thin protect yourself, but the rest of the planet needs to get back to business, if they have one, our governments haven't thrown away... 99.8 percent survival rate, who can't do this math??

Youcannow: The vaccine is a complete waste of time , or at least the ones on the market are .
As with the people who’ve have natural antibodies, there is no timeframe for the immunity of the vaccines .
They promised us that the vaccine was our saviour…. If that we’re the case , why after contacting the virus & having both vaccines, is Boris in self isolation?
If you are not vaccinated and pick up the virus, it gets to multiply and make you ill while your body is developing an immune response. The more it multiplies (the greater the 'viral load') the sicker you get and the more virus you have to huff and puff over other people.

The vaccines get your body to create an immune response without you actually being infected. When someone huffs and puffs covid all over you, you will likely get infected, but your artificially created immune response can get to work killing off the virus straight away. This means the virus doesn't get to multiply nearly as much, you will have a low viral load and either have mild symptoms, or be asymptomatic. You also won't have many virus to huff and puff over ther people, reducing the spread of the disease.

The vaccines aren't a waste of time, nor are they faulty. They are doing what vaccines do.

Boris is self-isolating because he's tested positive for covid. He likely has mild symptoms, or is asymptomatic and he's less likely to become very ill, or die because he's been vaccinated. Having a low viral load he's less likely to spread the virus, but he definitely can't if he's self-isolating.

The issue is that Boris made today 'freedom day' based upon the idea that vaccines have broken the link between infection and the disease. The reality is that vaccines have considerably weakened the link, but not broken it.

With our third wave of infections getting close to the peak of our second one, restrictions shouldn't have been lifted in the way they have despite so few deaths. People are still getting sick, hospital admissions are rising and there is still, therefore, potential for vaccine resistent mutations to appear.

In the interests of the economy restrictions could possibly have been loosened given the success of the vaccination programme, but we should all still be wearing masks, socially distancing and following hygiene protocols.

Like last summer, Boris has put the economy first. It created the second wave which was financially costly and cost lives. He's doing the same again, jeopardising the hard won progress that has been made.

It's possible we could be lockeddown for a fourth time this coming winter, or worse still, our child population could take the brunt of freedom day...and children have no freedom to choose anything at all.

Again, your accusations are totally false. No one said that having the jabs would make you immune to covid. Where are you getting your information from? If you take the time to look at the data, it's the young people that haven't been vaccinated yet. My grandson's friend in the same class at school tested positive. My grandson is nearly 12. The boy was quite ill with covid so all the class had to isolate for 10 days. Only 12 pupils in my grandson's class. My daughter was testing him every day as I was spending the weekend with them. He was negative as was his older sister as she's 15 and goes to a special school for autism. My daughter, her partner and myself have been double jabbed, Unfortuately the boy passed it on to his younger sister and his Mum. Luckily for her, she had been vaccinated. One less case in hospital.

We don't know if Boris has got the virus. He's just taking precautions and good for him, Well done to Boristhumbs up

Let me make this clear . I never said that Boris has the virus . He is self isolating because he came into contact with a member of his cabinet who contracted the virus .

Of course the experts said they had come up with a vaccine that will give you immunity. Don’t you read the news . They also said that if you contact the virus , you will become immune to it in the future.

It is inevitable that a fourth lockdown will take effect sometime in the autumn.
While I agree that the vaccines gives some sort of immunity, I think it’s given many people a false sense of security, especially when you look at the hospitalisations in recent weeks .
China , for all its faults, has managed to control the virus with a strict first lockdown & an even stricter border control, which has proved effect.
Our government seem to have adopted the “let it wash through the country” policy, with lapse border control. In other words , let people die to save the economy.

I wasn’t talking about routine operations . There were many life threatening ones that were cancelled because of the overwhelming pressure of our health services.
