After listening to the new budget . Like many Brits I will have to tighten my belt. Live on bread water.........in the dark........every thing that is. Taxable. Will go up. No doubt. The Syrian. Men who arrive in. This country. A hundred a week by boat. Will suffer too. Instead of being housed. In five. Star. Hotels. Will now. Have to live in four star hotels. And a reduction of a pound a week. From their four hundred pound a week. Allowences...the government should be ashamed of them selves treating our guests. In this way.......sigh sigh......?....

Most things the government does will make the inflation worse. However, Sunak is probably the smartest man in the government following the wisdom of let it be. Apart from the national insurance changes because a lot of people had been working a three-day week to avoid paying it but now they can work an extra day.

Blame Putin and more than Putin blame the covid dodgers who ravaged up our finances in order to save the most precious people ever to have lived. An entire continent's worth of resources taken out of the world to spare a lucky few.

We've just got to grasp the nettle because the pain inflicted upon the great masses of the earth is enormous and we can't turn back the clock. We have to pick up the tab for the covid coffin dodgers, the disgusting new old people who have no shame leaving us up to our necks in it. We've got to tighten our belts because covid coffin dodgers are the antithesis to the spirit of the blitz. They'd kill a kiddy to cheat death for six months.

You know Pete,
my mother's pension is 150 Euros a month for 40 years of working and paying taxes...
If she was to live alone she'd be dead in few months, especially if she didn't have own property...
Gypsies are paid enormous amount of money for being Gypsies... Disabilities, illnesses, ten kids, social blah, blah...
And now our government is giving every Ukrainian 600 Euro a month cash...plus accommodation, health care, schooling...
I don't mind that at all but think of your own people first...

The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) estimated that at the end of 2020 more than 82.4 million people were forcibly displaced worldwide.

Now add on the figure now fleeing from a war torn Ukraine.

You think you are hard done by ? You should thank your lucky stars it's not you.doh:

Well, it's a three month plan for now, after that one needs to get a refugee status...
Meaning that we don't really know who is a refugee...not yet.

I won't be surprised if some remain here for longer if not forever...
They will have a ready made community and possibilities for jobs...
And to be honest much better option than illegal immigrants...
Ukrainians won't have much problems with language barrier...and I am sure they will feel more or less like at home...

there are some in government around the globe that get raked over hot coals for that type of leadership and thinking. their own people first. that is the way things should be when in those positions. doesn't matter what country or region.

I absolutely agree with you!
This should be the first and most important job for any government...
But nowadays it has been labeled as nationalism... dictatorship or whatever other BS one can come up with...
I blame the globalisation ...it made us realise how important is to keep your core as strong as possible...
As nobody will care for you as much as your own people...
