bodleing2: Latest reports are 18 young children and 3 adults shot dead by 18 year old male in Texas school shooting.
So sad, so terribly sad.....
Sadly this type of crime will continue in the US until someone has the strength to face up to the gun lobby and have far more stringent rules regarding who can purchase a weapon, no one under the age of 25 needs a high powered multi-shot weapon, they need a girlfriend.
There were 249 shootings on school grounds last year in USA more than any other year since at least 1970 and 137 so far this year. 33,000 children killed, maimed in 20-year U.S. war in Afghanistan. According to Iraq Body Count, between 2003 and 2011, U.S. coalition forces killed at least 1,201 children in Iraq alone. Other reports that there has been between 184,382 and 207,156 Iraqi civilians killed by direct violence since the U.S. invasion. SOHR documented the deaths of 494,438 people by June 2021 in Syria.
Its mind boggling the extent of violence effecting sentient beings bodleing, if we consider just one short war 1939 -1945 it killed 64 million humans and countless other beings. That Biden is spending billions of US$ to kill people in Ukraine, also Biden just announced further US deployment in Somalia. It is not really all that surprising young people in America are getting really messed up.

This incident is just a symptom of the inherent madness and collective disfunction of the human race. When ww1 ended in 1918 people looked around in disbelief. Never before had mans madness been so destructive and so visible. Never before had we been so capable of mass murder, the scale of which left ten million dead and countless more injured. But that was only the beginning. By the end of the century our technological advances (the flip side to mans madness) had made it possible through wars , genocide, mass extermination and the like, to murder around another 100 million, and thats a conservative estimate. The new century has shown little respite, the death and destruction continues at an alarming rate with little sign of abatement. Is it any wonder then, with a track record like ours , if openly given the means, random individuals of such a sick society regardless of nationality will commit such acts of unfathomable violence. We are fundementally not sane enough to be allowed to wander around carrying such deadly weapons. By now that should be blindingly obvious to us all.
The government will have to make very strict laws on buying and selling guns. Gun should not be given to anyone just in the reason of security only.
the making of children's toys have to pass through many safety standards. So that no child gets even a scratch by this toy. If there was an accident with the child because of that toy, then the toy making company will be in trouble. What an irony it is, that a killer-toy (gun) is easily distributed to the children. Is there no safety standard for this? Is an 18 year old person mentally developed enough to be able to use a gun properly?
Who else should be responsible for this tragic incident other than that person? Shouldn't his guardians, gun sellers, licensing officers, such a law-making system, etc. be held responsible?

I think the Americans need to be more pragmatic in a world where nobody likes anybody anymore. You have to make it so people can't hurt you no matter how much they may want to. You'll not be making anybody want to hurt you less, particularly after lockdown which has a hand in these massacres. If anything after lockdown we should be breaking everyone's fingers to prevent fist fights. With no chance of doing the right thing humanity must be made powerless to act and start praying to police.

To be honest I don't know, don't really trust that safety that comes from being next to a powerless person who hates you and praying to police is even more doubtful. There's a part of me that thinks gun control makes us safer until it doesn't, until the authorities themselves become criminal which is inevitable that they do at some point.
Basically I do see a connection between European gun control and world wars. That it empowers the state to murder us instead. I think Biden knowing he could get shot curtailed the worst excesses of lockdown in America. If we forfeit our own mettle then we leave ourselves wide open to goose-step and genocide in the biggest way possible - it just won't happen as often.
Notoriety is what this is about. The media publishes these horrible acts, and the next sick mind is thus prepared to make it on the "big screen". They know, or have been told, they'll never become anything in life. So, they chose to "go out with a big bang". It isn't about guns. It isn't about treating people right. It is about the media publicizing horrible acts without any contrition of their own. This is worth repeating: It is about the Media publicizing horrible acts, without any contrition of their own.
People wonder why these blogs are so contentious. It is the same sickness. The compelling need to be recognized by the entire society. Many people want to be "stars", but if you don't have the genius or the looks, then all you are left with is notoriety. It is a mental illness perpetrated through the mass-media. Mass-media, mass-hysteria. There is a link. (And tellingly, many of the biggest mouths, don't have photos, which seems to indicate that they too are ashamed of what they are saying, and hide from their own words.)
I don't watch TV, and I avoid these blogs as much as possible. I'm an amateur author, and I'd love to get published again. But, it is not worth my soul to do it. Thus, I try very, very hard to make my few comments have meaning and applicability. I would offer the cure, but I hope that I would never contribute to the disease.
So, if you want to know what is actually going on in the world, turn your TV off. Then, look out your window. Is it peaceful, serene? If yes, then please report it to everybody! That's the stuff I want to hear!
Which goes back to the original reason for the right to bear arms - the insanity of the hive not the individual. It was to live in a space less safe so as to avoid monstrous tyranny. The founding fathers were considerate of threats from above which is why the average man could be armed to the teeth. They saw the system as worse than the average person which is not how we live today. The hospitals don't take care of us, we stay home to take care of the hospitals as we are groomed into an illiberal era where our lives are meaningless without the state, where we exist for the sake of the system rather than a system that exists for our sake.
But so much for the past. Today the politics seems to me self-defeating in a worst of both worlds. Lockdown should never have happened but we should also invest heavily in mental health services and do something about the American culture that's gone global. Try to be a little less saccharine, a little less like you're reading from a teleprompter in the way Americans do. They're even trying to people into a living teleprompter, your own personal life sponsored by big corporations. This is your life brought to you by General Motors. No, contrary to today's appearance we need to re-establish the sense that other people and their lives are real.
They used to warn us about violence in video games and the media and I do believe that plays a role, but what happens when people become media? A lot of reality with a bit of game is one thing, a lot of game with a bit of reality? That just makes me very nervous. I always think it couldn't possibly get anymore shallow, but then it does. It's not playing call of duty but the absence of real life we should be angry with. But how can we stop it? Anything we say here is playing into their hands
