germanspitz: I don't know if anyone else has noticed but you have to log in to read blogs, forums or view profiles whereas last week you could look at the site without being a member.
Times are changing it seems.
It’s inevitable over time. In this live what service do we not pay for.
secretagent09: Oxy, please refresh my memory what I said about ghostbusters
It was on one of galrads threads some time ago and he requested help for one reason or another and you replied call ghostbusters and posted the soundtrack. I will try and find it in a search.

I do remember something like that but it must have been a long time ago. You don't have to look for it.
secretagent09: Spitz, I saw that today that I have to log in and the threads at the bottom of the forum page are shaded so I can't read them. I should practice what I said a few days ago that if I don't like something about CS I should keep it to myself. However, this requirement to login is the exception, I am not keeping it to myself that it annoys me that I have to login so I am going to cancel my membership. It's not a big deal cause I'm not here as much as I was years ago.
Hi secret,
The good old days have gone when it used to be fun to log in and catch up with some really lovely people.
Of late I have just glanced at the site without logging in to see if there was anything of interest as I've been away from here for nearly 3 years. Sad to say nothing has changed and like you I might just leave them all to it.

I don't read offline but after reading this post of yours I had a sticky beak at CS whilst being offline.
I could see threads & posts clearly offline
I could see members profile pics clearly offline
The only thing that is blurred is the information a member has on their profile
I never realised there is now a daily limit on the number of messages you can send if you don't have a premium account.
If the CS admins think I'm going to spend almost $10 per month on what is, after all, a pretty basic and rudimentary dating website. They are very sadly mistaken.

For the record, how many new contacts do you make daily?
You only get about 10 free messages without a Premium account now before you're blocked from replying for the day. I was chatting to someone and I didn't realise this and now she must think I snubbed her or something, lol.
Still, there's always WhatsApp and Email to exchange messages. Damned if I'm going to be paying this site for the privilege.
Those low allowance figures are likely to drive people on here into exchanging numbers eg WhatsApp much too soon without getting to know who they are talking to. Going against their own safety advice on this site and likely placing the users of this site in more dangerous territory than is necessary
Jagmaster2: Has this place been taken over by new owners do you know?
I don't know but from reading other comments on here a certain other fishy site went the monetised route before being sold to a certain match making dot com site .... seems it increases the value
I think restricting messages discourages scammers from sending block messages to countless people. Limiting messages also encourages people to stick to a select few who they deem is a future , or potential match , rather than talking to multiple people with no intention of meeting.

putting this out there as an opinion (can't be sued for having an opinion and stating it as such..)
the monied sites never quite let one solidify a friendship/relationship. The longer you stay on and visit "members' profiles, the more you pay. Sort of like the therapist who never reaches the last session for you. Why should he? What? And stop the cash flow?? Right? Be smarter than them.

I'm not an expert, but would using a VPN allow you to circumvent any restrictions?
