Arias from La Boeme and Madame Butterfly rate amongest my favs, but would also have to get back to you with the titles as I can never remember them all, 'Your tiny hands are frozen' springs to mind and not classical but none the less beautiful is Eva Cassidy singing 'Over the Rainbow'
I love Ruggero Leoncavallo's Pagliacci, made famous by Enrico Caruso. I also enjoy Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 3 in D Minor and Intermezzo by Pietro Mascagni from Cavalleria Rusticana.
But for something a bit more up-to-date, I just love the music from Gladiator by Hans Zimmerman and Lisa Gerrard. In fact, I think I'll put it on now!!
I'll have you guys know that I was in bed by ten o'clock last night!! ................. Mind you, didn't get home til 5!!! Ooooo errr..... Yeah, right.... and then the bloody alarm went off, eh??
This morning it is The Flower Duet from Leo Delibes opera, Lakme. I play it over and over and over. Mozart's Requiem, especially the Laudamus Te. Perhaps you can tell I'm a soprano. The Carmina Burana. Anything by the Opera Babes. I wish they'd do another CD.
Nature's concert - I'm listening to it right now: Wind through the trees, birds singing, thunder rumbling in the distance... With any luck, in just a little while I'll hear raindrops on the roof. If that doesn't happen, I'll take the canoe down to Bull Run Creek and listen to another movement; Water over the rocks, woodpeckers for a percussion section and squirrels chattering as I drift along.
I love music, but Mother Nature has always been my favorite composer...
Well was not expecting so many classical pieces, but yeah I do agree that it does have so many beautiful pieces out there. Kansan, I do agrfee, Mother nature is the best composer of music. I miss so much going into the mountains and listening to the sounds of nature there.

I think it has to be Debussey's "La fille aux cheveux de lin"
Which piece do you think?
