Wel the only person I know named Nikola is former NWA wrestling valet, "BABYDOLL" Nikola Roberts. Anyone remember this hot valet who was once married to Sam Houston aka Jake "the sanke" Roberts brother? Way off topic I know, but you don't here that name often!
only realized about 8PM that today was St.Nikolaus Day in Europe, when I saw a Bunch of Bikers coming down along the River on their Motorbikes, all dressed up as St.Nikolas.Used to be really celebrated here when I was growing up. Was kind of a Christmas Pre-Taste.
And in Greece, it is also Name Day for Nikos or Niki or any number of derivations. Here, when someone is celebrating their name day, they give treats to others, as opposed to what we are used to in the U.S. when we celebrate a birthday and others give gifts to us. I always look forward to the name days here for Ioannis (or Yiannis....English version is John) or Dimitris (Jim) or Giorgos (George)....because there are so many people here with those names....it's always a good day for sweets and yummy delights!! Xronia Polla, Nikos, yia tin giorta sas, kai na eiste kala!
