riyablossom: This idea cropped in to my mind while on Indy's thread.
People, what do you believe or have faith in ?
I know this sounds ambigious. But not everyone here is religious.
So do you believe in God ? If yes, what do you believe about him and his teachings ? Do you follow any particular religion ? If yes/no why ? If atheist, what is your belief about the existence of a creator or an energy force ? If none of these , any personalised beliefs ? PS: This is NOT to debate or put anyone's faith down .
I do believe in myself, I do rely on myself .... I am the keeper of my future and my past, I am and only me, are responsible for everything and everyone in my life.
The spirits of Nature helps to keep my personal, human spirits up.
diogenes: I believe in God, and/or a singular source energy. In religious expression that seeks to define the nature of God I have found no other that I favor more than the Judeo/Christian concept I have been taught from a young age. Although, there is no particular denomination that I strongly adhere to. I think that the name for God that is given by Moses, and is translated in English as I Am, is very suitible description. In the book of Genisis it is said that humans were created in the image of God. I believe that this concept, by some convulvous twist of nature has somehow been reversed to where our minds concieve God in our image. I believe that this misunderstanding, is the core of what is often referred to as sin. I believe that God breathed life into dust to form us, but that "breath" as a word or concept is used for lack of a better term, and might limit the truth of how this actually takes place. I believe that as God is a creative force, that we being in the image of God are co-creators with Him in all things that are experienced in the physical world.
I'll sum up before I get to far down the rabbit hole. There are some that believe that nothing that man does makes a difference, and that everything is completely according to the will of God. Others think that the fate of the world is completely in the hands of Humanity.
I agree with both sides of the debate. I love the confounding paradox of the truth. It is the God part of the universe that is the ultimate power, yet God acts through the mind and actions of every human in his creation. When we as humans become aware of the spiritual basis of the mind, we become even more creative in our ability to help ourselves, each other, and God to make life on Earth as it is in Heaven.
The way we see the world affects the way we respond to it. The way we respond to it affects the world itself. God wants us to become more conscious and aware of this fact so that we can asume more responsibility in our role as co-creators with Him. We are given the freedom, and responsibility to create our lives as we choose.
It's a huge Cosmic Burger King, and we can have it our way. What do you choose? Drink that in, and let it mix with everything you already know and believe about prayer, life, will, etc.
Can we understand God through logic of science? I thought that human minds conceive God in human form because thats how they can relate to but as u said about Genesis, and so is true with Hindu religions that God has human form. Or is it humans that are in form of God? We are the only ones amongst all other forms of life to have higher consciousness Narasimha - Lion Head and Human body is exception. Sphinx. Paradoxes everywhere. How can we define God or The Creator? Our mind and body is human so how can we imagine something that is beyond our imaginations or the concepts of mind?
