kidatheart: I have an old stainless steel washing machine drum on a cast iron stop sign base for a firepit. Portable and will last a lifetime!
What an interesting thread ..... When I had a small farm growing vegetables, I had one of those perforated drums from a washing machine mounted on a pole so I could throw the veges into it and spray the hosepipe in while turning the drum - washed all the soil off - soil fell out thru the holes, and the veges came out nice and clean. Lots of uses for old discarded stuff, if one adopts lateral thinking ..... LOL... like the guys up front of this thread!

The door and hinges make a good fold down redneck table at the toilet.....good for holding books, Tv , your plate, and puzzle.
The hose is good for storing plastic bags in, making funny noises through.
If it still turns. Put potting soil in the drum for mixing. You can make a cage wheel for forty hamsters.
Lots of stuff! List your ideas!
