A news item here in St. Petersburg, Fl..USA.

A couple was in the same hospital, but neither one knew the other was in the same hospital due to the advanced stages of their illnesses. They both died on the same day within 90 minutes of each other. Neither knowing how close they were to each other, physically.

They were married for 58 years!! And died 90 minutes apart!

This restores the reality of love even to this jaded old fool!!hug

WOW..well that's true love for ya...There are stories too where couples that are elderly also die within weeks or months of each other...probably from a broken heart because one can't go on without the other...BUT...No doubt that kind of love is rare...BUT certainly would be nice to have with someone!!!!!!!!

Some years ago I used to look after a couple in their 90's.. the lady was unwell and had been for a while..

They had been together since they were 16yrs. They used to sit everyday in the HUGE window of their house overlooking the sea.. they would sit there laughing and talking... her deaf as a post.. and him trying to shout.. and sing her (old time) songs - LOUDLY.

Louie.. (the wife).. became reeeally poorly and died quite quickly.. John her husband.. who was seemingly fit as a flea.. was absolutely heartbroken..

His son found his dead in his chair the following week.

It reminded me of love birds.

it was soo sweet Dana.. He would sit there every day.. (before she got too bad)... holding her hand across their 'oldy chairs' ... their wrinkley little hands.. Singing away to her.. reminding her of stories of when they were young.. and she would laugh and laugh.

They were SUCH a lovely couple. They absolutely adored each other.. after ALL those years. Bless'um
