Yes, I do put on an act at times and may go overboard with some of my off the wall comments. I like a show
Yes, I do romance but only for a woman who makes my heart sing. However, may recent ex said I was not exactly romantic (like bringing flowers all the time or doing the candles thing or whatever), but she did say I was a good listener, very caring, and sweet. I don't know if that's romantic.
I love doing get aways...like going to a cottage by the beach, going to the shore, and having a "fika". Is that romantic? lol
I think I get mixed up by what romantic means. To me it's just quality time together, and I really try and avoid the cliche type romantic gestures that are seen in a hollywood film.
Anyways, I don't want to hijack my own thread lol.
I just took my daughter to school today. I had a little chat with her teacher (wow), and she has the most wonderful smile and it made me feel good about the morning.
Bless them, women.
Totally agree with you here, SF. Romance is not giving her flowers all of the time (makes me suspicious, actually) or having candlelit dinners...it's the little things like really listening to her, or holding her hand, making sure you kiss her before leaving for work and upon coming home, cooking her dinner if she's working late, etc. I think you've got it down pat.
and on a political note, if more women had positions of power, maybe this stupid world run by men would not be so like...stupid.
I watched a report today regarding just that, the empowerment of women, which actually creates a more dynamic, stable and balanced environment and contributes to different countries and cultures economic progression. It is in those places where women are demoralized, degraded and desponded that there are crisis in this world, be it economically, politically or socially.
Iraq, Afghanistan, the Congo are just a couple of examples where the oppression of women cause nothing but crisis and chaos.
Women are beautiful citizens of this earth and absolutely essential to our balance in this universe. JMO
there is another thread that goes along the lines of this - appreciating men, but I cannot find it. I hope that someone can help me out in this endeavor. It's a good thread as well.
