Hot_Single_Dude: Really.....Do you think Drilling after oil will loose the problems fast and smooth?

A real story of the Alaskan pipeline and the oil fields there. I was working (sales representative) in CA for a major (to be unnamed power tool comapny) when the Alaskan pipeline was done.

The Alaskan territory was part of the territory of the representative from Seattle, Washington. He would go to Alaska three times a year. And would write more business on those three trips than any of the other rep in the country. There were 76 reps. For 4 straight years he was number 1.....all because of the pipeline and drilling.

You want a fast economic recovery for the US? Start some major oil projects. There is a ripple effect thru the local, regional and national
economies that you cannot imagine.

It is not just that eventually you get the oil....it is also the economy gets the boost making the pipelines and fields to get it.

Damn Tom, you're missing the point. The point is to slow the economy down and make more people dependent on government. We shouldn't drill anywhere. Just gradually wither away. That's what leftists want....

Maybe someday the US could be good at making pastries though. grin

To end something like Sadam, Opal it takes some tough stuff. Removing Sadam was not a boy scout mission.....and this post follow up conflict is not one either......but it is winding down.

I don't say that say one life is more valueable than another. But had Sadam had another 10 years there and then his sons inherit the gov't and power......how many lives is that? We will never know, because they were removed from power.

ttom500: Yes, I know where CA is. I lived in Ca for 6 years. So know exactly what they are up against. They had some major thunderstrom blow thru.....got a bunch of lightening strikes and got wildfires.

Now here is the question you need to ask and to answer before you can point the fickle finger of poor gov't on anyone regarding wildfire control. Did they try to control old growth and ground growth with either selective cutting or with pre season burns? Honestly, I don't know.

But assuming they took the precautions of doing this.....this I would say it just a real bad dry spell and weather situation. If not....then you can get out the fickle finger blame award. But don't point it at all the Feds.

The State of CA needs some of the blame as well. There is lot of State Forest in CA.

A little know fact. CA has the single largest air fire attack operation in the country. Is larger than most foreign countries air forces.

I have to agree. The reality is it hardly ever rains here. They are good at doing what they can, but there's really only so much that can be done. It's nature. It's like trying to control tornadoes.

Hot_Single_Dude: It was because of protecting the environment and also because of strategic oil reserves for the feauter where there is not much oil left in other countries .

And still ......it was not done ten year ago ....right.....and if they beginn tomorrow then the problems will not be totaly solved before around 2030!

If oil companies got the okay today, oil would be flowing within 3 years. You can take that to the bank...

1000 is better than 3000....at least in my math books. We have hashed the Iraq connects to AlQeada so much, if we do it one more time the monorators will be closing the thread down.

But let me ask you this. Sadam was using many European companies to stay in power. Do you think that they just might be a little angry that thier meal ticket was out of power?

Dude, you got to know..it was billions of EUs to European companies....with him gone....that monthly check was going to be in the mail a long long time. Europe had a vested interest to see that Sadam stayed in power.

Do you feel that might be a reason why Europe is luke warm to the US
and Iraq war?

I know! California has a great fire squadran and their air fire attack squadran is known all ove rthe world and so on.....I have seen programs aboutit on Discovery and on National geograohic as well.

What is horrible about these happenings is......

The Scale of the lightning......it is massive and it is huge and experts say they have not seen things like this as long as they rmeber!

The environmental of the wntire earth is kicking asses major time....thigns are gettign out of control and thats scarey in deed!

That is what scares me and worries me and thats why we at least must use all our efforts to create a more environmental friendly feauter for all of us TT!

Global warming in not just a story.....Even this warlord GWB was "forced" to use the damn word!

I dont like your kind of math book TT........moping

Saddam was very VERY close to American companies and american government as well and actually Reagan made the regim of Sddam powerful and gave him a lot chemichal agetns to attack iranian soldiers with,,,,,,Exactly as Taliban regim in afghanistan by the way !Have you not seen pictures of Saddam and Ramsfeldt and all those Republican folks?Viedos? Have you forgotten already?

European countries who helped Saddam in weapon developing did it by knowledge and acceptance of the US as well......

All this......before the first Golf war and after that the cooporation was mainly based on oil and oil only!

I think is Europeans are generally disturbed because of the iraq war it is because the security of Europe is threatened because of the same war of course........this war brigns up more terrorism every where and it is a costly affair to keep all that under control!

ttom500: Oil is old business?:-) Jimmy Crickets and Daniel Boone discussing the foreing trade of Europe with Russia.

Jimmy Cricket: I wonder where those 32 Russian billionaire got their billions from? You know those Russian oil tycons and Kremlin friends of Mr. P. The one that arrange all that Russian crude to end up.....where?

Daniel Boone: Yes Jimmy. Russia export more crude oil to Europe than any other trading partner.

Jimmy Cricket: Daniel, how much oil does Europe use?

Daniel Boone: Alot. Europe is not as self supporting of oil, as the US is.
Europe imports nearly 82% of it oil. The US imports about 25%.

Jimmy Cricket: Wow Daniel. Does that mean Europe is in the Kremlin pocket big time?

Daniel Boone: Well Jimmy. Let me put it this way. When the Kremlin sneezes, they often catch a cold in Europe. Literally Jimmy. That Russian crude heats thier homes in the winter time.

Jimmy Cricket: Daniel, what is going to happen?

Daniel Boone: Well Jimmy, the way I figure. Europe better make alot windmills and buy some electric cars, because if Mr. P and Russia don't like the Europe political scene......Russia is going to play oil politics with them in a big way.

jmo You guys are going to need your windmills and electric cars, Dude....if we start to buy them.....you will be walking and going cold in the winter time.

Actually Europe has generally a much more solid economy then America you know? And a lot of that advantage is because we invest a lot more in environmental industry! Dont you want your country making money out of this huge need as well TT?

American way of life is important for americans I know that........Several cars.....cheep Gaz.......all that but still why can it be possible to change that and helping the environment when the flow of money will be huge as well? I know when american economy becomes better, the reuslts will be felt in Euorpe as well and it will bring more peace and stability on entier world as a result.......Why americans must be held behind in this huge adventur TT? Americans made the first modern wind molls any way! I know egyptians discovered wind energy more than 3000 years ago but still Ameirca made the first modern wind molls and then the industry went to Europeans who developed and mass produced it.....Wht shall you guys Buying these wind molls from Europe at all TT? You can make bette ones I am certain! American tools......Peace of true art!
