Reincarnation and Soul-mates (128)
Galactic_bodhi: Okay. Not everybody believes in karma or reincarnation. But almost everyone here is a closet romantic, and believes that somewhere out there is "The One".
Lately, from my own religious perspective, I've begun to think that while soul-mates may or may not exist, we do encounter certain people over and over in our journey from birth to death, and back around, and that we are tied together with these people by a web of Karma that stretches back and forward into infinity.
Have you ever met someone you constantly experience deja-vu around? Do you look at their face and see foreign cities you've never been to,at least in this lifetime, and have vague impressions at the edge of your memory of events and conversations with or regarding these people?
Anyone? The floor is now open...

Yep, I believe in these connections, very much so - I often think of somebody and then will get a call from them or we will meet up by chance - its very odd sometimes

I've been rereading "The Holographic Universe" by Michael Talbot. According to him, everything is connected. There's no such thing as dualism, or locality, at least according to the holographic paradigm. The science is all very mind-boggling, but I feel this sort of thing intuitively. Its very strange, and has me constantly second-guessing myself...

Personallly I prefer "The Electric Universe", all things in their place, with all laws of nature functioning as they should and no doubt to be had.

I had my fist ever experience of deja-vu at around the age of 9 in the dungeons of Dover Castle so heck knows what i got up to in former lifetimes
I didnt recognise it as deja-vu at the time, that was only on later reflection - at the time it was very scarry and I can still see the picture - strange............------ This thread is Archived ------

Well, I think that's the point really, that it's baffling as hell...
The buddha said in the lotus sutra about the law of karma:
"It is difficult to see, and difficult to understand."
He also stated, about trying to explicate it to another:
"Yui butsu yo butsu"
"The language of buddhas can only be understood by buddhas."
This to me means that it is something we experience in a Zen capacity, with the full totality of our "Now" being...
You may think on something in retrospect, but your thoughts are merely echoes of the original thought. It is only in the moment of the original thought that it can be understood, via the interconnection of those thoughts to everything else...

I can relate, Trish. My 1st experience was when I was quite young, also... not good, either. In fact it was very, very bad & scary. This was followed by predictive dreams, within a dream, and extreme intuitive deja-vu that progressively became more & more regular.

I havent read that - yet - will do though cos it sounds like Id like it..... it does ring a bell though (haha) so will look it up in a min.
I think there are many connections which we dont/cant tune into - just as in the quest for discovering the number of dimensions of our universe - the one constant to my mind is change and we have to be alert to those occurences....... this is a really difficult topic - but one of my absolute favourites - and intuitive to the bone I agree
I love the science too, its absolutely magical looking at time, space, connections and fractal stuff - it can be extremely wondrous and a veritable voyage of discovery

While you may prefer a stable, platonic solid universe, with all the laws functioning as they should, this is not how things are. At the quantum level, form is emptiness, and emptiness is form.
Matter and energy are an accretion of vibration from higher dimensions into lower ones. This idea is supported by the discoveries associated with M-theory...

absolutely, it frightened me for many years until I began to have other experiences which allowed me to piece things together - the dreams too, pre-emptive stuff can be really scarry, and they were till again, I get other experiences to balance them with, rationality if you like........

In a place of safety Al, I think amazing things are possibe - its also possible that anxiety kills off much of this energy - maybe Im trying to say that I see fear as the enemy of progreaa - dunno

Yes Bodhi, i used to think of these things as just weird stuff that might only happen to a few people, but now, after my calming, my views have changed.
I have met people that i felt i knew them the moment i saw them, traveling far away to meet them. And i did know them spiritually as i discovered later.
I visited people far far away in my dreams. very lively dreams, interactive ones... in one instance i even talked to the other person and when i woke up i messaged her about it (half around europe) and she knew we had spoken and even answered the question i had asked in our dreams without me repeating it. i visited that person later on, on my journey and we had some very interesting descusions, the kind of which old friends have.
I notice people's auras sometimes, when they are particularly strong. how they suck each one out, how they fight in their bright colors between them or how they sometimes unite to a bigger brighter coned bubble at the height of their chins or even above them.
i'm still young in my journey, but i feel inescapably attracted to longitudes and latidutes and i have learned to succump to this and make my way there knowing that there is a reason for it.
I will be on my way again soon, this part of my journey is nearing it's beautiful end. there's someone i need to meet now, one that we have shared many dreams and feelings without much talking. We need to meet, i feel, because we need to learn something from each other... As if, some things have remained untold in some past life and we must answer those inner questions, the ones we never knew that they were there.
Yes, that's the karmic web: you can either move on it's paralell threads or you can take the vertical ones to close in on it's center...

Soul Mates and Twin Flames are not the same thing. Soul Mates are other souls that have agreed to connect with you on this planet for a purpose.
