My first trip to our village.I remember all the details about the people, car, road, path ways.Uncle put me among many lambs, being so close to them, they licking my legs….
And I also was very happy to visit a bigger city with a fair/lunapark…It was our first holiday out my hometown.
First day at school: I lost my class room. I started school very early (when I was very young)….

None come to mind. I come from a really dysfunctional family and I can't remember a time when there wasn't yelling, shouting and fighting. Mostly between my parents and sometimes it was directed at my brother or me.

Dancing with my mum when I was about 6 or 7 to old Elvis Presley songs.

Watching mum and dad jiving together. I thought they were happy and they were most of the time, but they also argued and fought which after many many years ended in divorce.

Bittersweet I guess.

Our neighbour girl in my age used to let ride her tricycle at first.
One day she refused me to ride it.
I cried all Sunday long at home for a tricycle.
Dad had to request his friend to open his store on Sunday for the tricycle.

As little girls my younger sister and I,are father made it a near week event, going to the dress makers and having velvet dresses made, picking out the perfect patten shoes, with fuax fur coats and muffs,in which we had are hair done and went to the theatre during the holidays, was always the same production company each year, but a different play/performance each year.

I smile just at the thought of how grown-up,important and beautiful we felt each year...:)

To this day I love the theatre.

hug Know the feeling ...

Still have SOME good memories though ... like the annual school Christmas production in the village hall, where every class got to perform something in between professional clown, magician and musical acts. At the end, every child from the school had to line up and would to get given (by father Christmas himself!!!) a really nice present (like a doll with REAL hair!!!!!) as well as a bag of nuts+ satsumas + christmas chocolates (sponsored by the lorry manufacturing co Berliet). More than a lot of us were going to get at home in those days in a small farming French village ... grin
