Malta seems to be pictured like some kind of Amsterdam/Colombia by your friends. It is not the case. I've been living in this island for quite a while. Never encountered anyone selling me Cannabis freely like I have been in other European countries. Having said that, if you know the people in these things, you are sure to find and if you look for it thoroughly. Though no. In my opinion and various of other people I know, it's not like that. Your friends must've encountered a quite a bad line of people when here in Malta if they gave them this image of Malta.

I've lived in Malta all my life... I have to agree with my friend here, if you look for it you'll find it just like any other country.

Like all other countries, whether legal or not, drugs are sure to be found...some more easily obtained than others.... but in this tiny Mediterranean gem, penalties can be anything from very harsh to absurdly ridiculous... depends on who you are & whom you know!!
